To support our various Business Units in Belgium we are currently looking for a full-time customer oriented, proactive and flexible field Technical Consultant or Sales Specialist with excellent communication skills, strong technical drive and natural ability to spot business opportunities. Near native Dutch or French language knowledge (preferred bilingual in both Dutch and French) plus fluent English are required.

**A Day in the Life**

**_Technical Consultant_**

As a Technical Consultant you will maintain and develop business with all customers in the Netherlands. You will do this by providing excellent clinical/technical support and education in collaboration with the sales force, in order to meet or exceed the targets and to enhance Medtronics reputation in the market. As the world leading company in Medical Devices, we are developing many innovative technologies. For this we collaborate with the worlds leading hospitals and surgeons, researchers, and partners to offer a broad range of innovative products and technologies that return patients to normal active lives more quickly. Our Dutch sales team builds strong and lasting business relationships with hospital staff, medical associations and opinion leaders, to achieve that goal. As a team member of the Dutch sales team you are responsible for technical support in the assigned Business Unit. You will work primarily in one assigned region of the Netherlands, but you are also expected to support the team in all the country if needed. In this position you will provide technical support to the medical team in the operational theatres for our total product portfolio (from your assigned product group). Beside intra operative support this will include set management and the responsibility to train and educate relevant hospital staff. You will also assist in identifying key decision makers, opinion leaders and referrals, extend existing accounts and develop entirely new ones. This challenge demands a cross-business attitude so our strategy can be fully implemented. In the field of Relationship Management, it will be your task to build strong and lasting relationships with the right specialists and and other relevant hospital staff. Maintaining and acquiring knowledge on new products, technologies, therapies and processes is demanded to perform this job.

Your main tasks:

You will work with the sales representatives in the field to ensure successful education and training support to physicians, educators and patients who are using our products. You will conduct on-site education and consulting and will support establishment and maintenance of customer relations with healthcare professionals and organizations

You will develop innovative and effective training for our customers in collaboration with other technical consultants of the team

You will assist physicians and nurses with device procedures when required

You will provide technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products and provide sales personnel with technical data necessary for the demonstration of products

**_Sales Specialist_**

As a Sales Specialist you will be primarily responsible for selling the full range of products in assigned accounts or regions in a professional manner to hospitals and related healthcare professionals as well as for the management of quality and consistency of product and service delivery. You will build strong ethical business relationships with customers to ensure usage of our products and gain greater market share, leading through clinical selling. We expect you to cooperate and coordinate activities with Key Account Management team and the other divisions within Medtronic to maximize business opportunities.

It will be your job to meet (or preferably exceed) financial and non-financial targets in a way that enhances Medtronics reputation in the market. In this commercial position you will fulfill several tasks in the field of sales management, ranging from market analyses and developing sales strategies to performing sales activities such as product introductions and support technical procedures when necessary. You will identify and address all key decision makers, opinion leaders and referrals, extend existing accounts and develop entirely new ones.

Building strong and lasting business relationships is another important task. Just as identifying and preparing upcoming tenders, market trends and competitors information. We expect you to act, make decisions, and contribute to achieving and exceeding of sales budget, implementation of sales plan and growing existing business as well as managing customer relations at all levels in your territory. You are able to effectively handle expense budget allocations as well as all consignment accounts. Furthermore, it will be your responsibility to attend and facilitate congresses, workshops and any required marketing function. You will also enlarge client base in assigned territory and develop a business case for procedural growth.

Your main tasks:

Achieving revenue and profit targets within assigned region and product scope

Identifying, maping and building relationship with all key decision makers and influencers, including sub-specialists, and particular chief of Cardiology department

Identifying and develop account potentials, account segmentation planning, documentation

Developing account sales strategy and planing according account segmentation concept with long-, medium- and short-term perspective

Identifying and facilitating market development opportunities and encouraging collaborations on specific projects

Preparing sales proposals and quotations

Negotiating contract and terms, closing deals, contract follow up vs. targets

Managing field-clinical support according to business priorities

Connecting with C-suite to understand hospital hospital network priorities

Maintaining compliance to business processes, including UBD management, cycle count management, expenses etc.

**Must have**

Relevant education degree

Fluent in Dutch and/ or French (preferred bilingualism)

Professional English level

Located in Belgium

You show strong interpersonal and communication skills

**Nice to have**

Operation room experience

Knowledge of Belgian Hospitals/ Healthcare System

Experience in medical devices/ pharma field

Product launch, territory planning and forecasting experience a plus

Experience with SalesForce.com

Presentation and negotiation skills
