We have an exciting opportunity for a Welder to join our Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) Group located in Tupelo, MS. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing difficult but repetitive welding processes on aluminum and steel parts and assemblies to required tolerances using various welding alloy electrodes.

  • Sets up and operates welding equipment to produce high quality welds in both various shapes and sizes and various ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Follows moderately complex verbal and written instructions including engineering prints, hand sketches and production documentation; may participate in the development of operating procedures, safety guidelines, and manufacturing practices; and maintains required certifications.
  • Monitors weld quality in accordance with quality specifications.
  • Works with NDT inspectors to locate defects, remove, and repair in welds.
  • Recommends proper tools and materials for work to be performed; monitors proper use of welding equipment and safety practices.
  • Maintains required welding qualifications.
  • May aid in the training of less experienced welders.
  • Performs housekeeping and cleanup duties as required and participates in company 6S program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Typically requires a High school diploma or equivalent and two years or more related welding experience.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to qualify and maintain qualifications and demonstrate a general understanding of welding principles, and practices including moderately complex manufacturing documentation such as diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions and knowledge of GTAW/TIG , Flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW) processes.
  • Must possess:
    • the ability to communicate and understand written and verbal communication;
    • the ability to identify, interpret and report on issues, contributing solutions to routine problems;
    • the ability to use independent judgment in performing welding functions; and,
    • good interpersonal communication skills to explain general information and effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
