WCM Deal Closing Team Lead

Wealth Credit Management (WCM) at Citi is a newly formed business line to provide integrated end to end credit underwriting, transaction and portfolio management in partnership with all the origination businesses of the Private Bank and Wealth Management of Citi. We are looking to hire an experienced professional to contribute and perform a management role with respect to the development and implementation Deal Closing Team (DCT) within Loan Product and Transaction Management in WCM.

DCT will be responsible for supporting multiple aspects of the deal closing lifecycle, specifically to ensure a smooth coordination between clients, client counsel, transactors and Citi counsel. The team will work closely with the various stakeholders to ensure a smooth closing and funding.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Perform leadership role with respect to the build and development of the global team of professionals to support the deal closing.

+ Coordinate deal closing and enforce approvals and control process have been completed timely.

+ Monitor deal transaction flow from the prospecting stage through closing and maintain pipeline reporting.

+ Advise and review prospect transactions for operational complexity and interpret legal loan documentation for loan mechanics and compliance with firms policies.

+ Ensure legal loan documentation is complete, accurate and in alignment with approved terms and conditions.

+ Ensure all regulatory requirements have been completed and met.

+ Manage and contribute to the creation of processes, standards, procedures, controls, training, and implementation of function across LPTM and DCT.

+ Institute and ensure effectiveness of controls and processes meet internal policies and regulatory requirements/expectations.

+ Contribute to and support the strategic vision for this team by enabling the implementation roadmap to execute accordingly.

+ Represent DCT on various workstreams and initiatives across PBWM.

+ Constructively contribute to new and existing policy and regulatory requirements across Global Wealth Management workstreams and take a point of view on behalf of DCT as needed.

+ Constantly improve processes, controls and efficiencies within the group and front to back across deal closing lifecycle.

+ Lead projects and provide valuable input with various working groups created to enhance performance and efficiency.

**Knowledge, Experience and Skills:**

+ In depth knowledge of Loan products

+ Deep understanding of Loan Closing activities

+ Expert in reading and interpreting credit agreements

+ Understanding of loan accounting concepts

+ Experience leading a team in a management capacity supporting wholesale lending at large financial institution

+ Demonstrated skills in building, developing, and motivating teams

+ Extensive experience in managing large remediation efforts and meeting critical deadlines

+ Proven ability to collaborate with team members and senior management both within the lines of business and across multiple stakeholders

+ Highly analytical and decision-making capabilities including the ability to identify, escalate, and propose and execute solutions to complex problems

+ Ability to multi-task through the practice of strong organizational and time management skills with experience in continuously following-up with various stakeholders and execution team

+ Extensive experience working in a steering capacity with Business constituents, Technology and Operations on process improvement

+ Proven track record in establishing and maintain business line partnerships

+ Track record of establishing key operating standards and KPIs/metrics with the achievement of leading team to meeting / exceeding these standards

+ Strong influencing skills and ability to work in an environment where priorities are frequently changing


+ 12+ years of experience in large financial institution is a must

+ Prior experience in Loan management or operations is preferred

+ Proven record of working with complex credit agreements is a must

+ Understanding of lending rules and regulation is a plus

+ Prior experience of managing large team is required

+ Experience with exposure and transactions reporting tools

+ Undergraduate degree is required

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

+ Attention to detail

+ Excellent oral and written communication capability

+ Ability to take initiative and self-motivate

+ Developed analytical and problem-solving abilities

+ Client relationship and solution skills
