The Citi Value (Non-Rewards) business is the largest book - with the most cardmembers and generating the highest revenue within Citi Proprietary Cards business.  This portfolio is a significant strategic focus for the organization, with high visibility and attention given its size and profitability.  There is a need for a strategic approach to growing the book thoughtfully to deliver profitability targets that requires fresh, innovative and highly analytical thinking. This is a high impact and high profile role, requiring updates to Senior Management across Product, Acquisitions, Decision Management and Customer Experience.
The Value product team consists of 2 products (Simplicity and Diamond Preferred) and is part of the larger Citi Cards Product Management organization responsible for Product and Business Management of Credit Cards with P&L responsibility, Strategy and Planning, New Product Development, Marketing Strategy and Customer Experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Growth Strategy:  Work with key partners and the Value team to chart a growth strategy for the Value book; define analyses, perform industry analysis and develop annual and multi-year strategies for how best to build both Simplicity and Diamond Preferred
  • Acquisition Tracking and Analytics:  Lead all Acquisition tracking and analysis across Simplicity and Diamond Preferred, raising and resolving issues; perform in-depth additional analysis using reporting (e.g. Cognos, Argus) as needed to develop forecasts and raise strategic questions on the portfolio
  • Strategic Special Projects/Initiatives:  Lead specific pieces of analysis within large-scale strategic Acquisition projects.  Examples may include right sizing Acq to manage short term and long term goals of the business; analyzing impact in Digital of increasing Above the Line spend, or investigating the impact of new FICO segments using Risk metrics. 
  • Market Research:  Design, lead and analyze all market research across both businesses including comprehensive attitude and usage studies, customer journey analysis, NPS, and any product or innovation related research
  • Competitive Analysis:  Lead all work on competition including deep diving on competitive strategy (partnering with Competitive Intelligence and Strategy groups) including competitive economics, offer strategy, pricing and innovation
  • Budget:  Forecast and manage Budget across Value
  • Acquisitions Marketing:  Approve and opine on all Acquisition creative across Simplicity and Diamond Preferred


  • Bachelors Degree in economics, finance, accounting, engineering, mathematics, statistics, business, computer science or related quantitative discipline and 3 plus years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience. Alternatively, Masters degree in one of the above fields. 
  • Experience must include
    • Strong analytical skills, particularly with financials and portfolio analytics.  Experience in scenario development and forecasting to aid in business case development for portfolio growth and marketing investment.  Very comfortable with structuring analysis using large datasets (e.g. setting up Access queries, designing Excel macros), particularly vintage analysis and impact on financials over time
    • Strong communication skills particularly in writing; designing slides and presentations to persuasively make the argument and particularly in designing analyses that specifically support arguments
    • Strong drive and initiative able to push forward in face of multiple groups, priorities and obstacles extremely practical bent to workplanning and getting things done
    • Creative and marketing experience, ideally in creating go to market plans and growth strategies that take into account competitive lens, multiple channels (including Digital) and deep insight into customers
