The VP Banker is responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the private or capital markets as well as in providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions. The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic advisor to our clients by formulating investment strategies and raising capital for clients. In Germany, we cover every sector (e.g. Technology & Telecoms, Software & Internet, Mobility, Industrials, Power & Renewables, Healthcare, Consumer, etc.), all investors (private equity, infrastructure, family offices and pension funds) and every product (M&A, ECM, Leveraged Finance, etc.) for German and Austrian clients, with the support of industry and product teams based in London. This coverage model allows to focus on core clients in the Germany and Austria region (listed companies, large private companies, private equity investors) as well as rising start-ups with no particular industry focus from the outset (except for Financial Institutions).


+ Assume significant levels of responsibility for the various phases of project and transaction execution, new business development and overall growth of the firm

+ Work closely with clients on financing transactions and guide them through the capital raising process (public and private raisings), including leading due diligence and drafting sessions and preparing them for an equity or debt offering

+ Work with clients, senior bankers and outside professional advisors on M&A and ECM transactions

+ Responsible for drafting situation analyses, pitch materials, information memoranda, investor and management presentations and oversee work being performed by analysts & associates assigned to projects

+ Be integral part of the Team including training and development of our junior bankers, participating in recruiting and contributing to selected Citi EMEA and global initiatives


+ More than 5 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, specifically within Banking

+ Comprehensive knowledge of the banking and capital markets business and its related products and pertinent regulations

+ Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

+ Experience with large corporate clients, capital markets products, credit, finance and securities products


+ Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experience

+ Masters degree preferred
