planning and execution of the long-term evolution of visualization hardware and
software enabling new technologies that provide greater insight to surgeons
performing surgical robotics. You will work with the Medtronic surgical
robotics team to create future capabilities to augment an already existing
architecture, from inception through commercial launch and beyond.

**A Day in the Life**


As the Visualization
Architect, you will be a leader of innovation defining the next generation
imaging, visualization, and analytic systems for Medtronics Robotic Surgery
Platform.You will work closely with the
marketing and clinical teams to align the RD pipeline with our future product
roadmap.You will collaborate across the
larger program team to manage and influence the high-level design and
interconnectivity of visualization components, as well as, technology needed
for advanced analytics and simulation.You are expected to comprehend the latest technology advances in
surgical visualization and analytics, leveraging outside experts as
needed.You will also define critical performance
criteria and test methods for the visualization system and work closely with
the RD development teams to implement the designs in the product.This position is a leadership focused role and
a critical member of our top-level architecture team.


**Qualifications**


**Must Have:**

Bachelors Degree in relevant studies and a minimum of 15 years
experience in relevant work.

**_PreferredArchitectural Leadership Experience:_**


+ A proven leader ofinnovation on multiple, multidisciplinary projects in a regulated industry(medical device products involving low latency visualization highly preferred)

+ Experiencedeveloping and documenting system architectures for complex visualizationsystems

+ Excellentcommunication skills with the ability to educate, influence, and inspire othersaround a vision of the future

+ Proven ability totranslate high level program objectives into action plans for an RD teamin order to meet short- and long-term goals and timelines

+ Well-developedcollaboration skills with proven track record of interfacing between multiplegroups and functions (RD, QA, operations, marketing, regulatory, andexternal experts)

+ Experience withbusiness development and defining a product roadmap for future growth of amultidisciplinary platform

+ Experience building,leading and managing small development teams, including hiring, establishingteam priorities, and developing individual technical contributors

+ Patient centricmindset with a strong desire to improve clinical outcomes **_Preferred Technical Experience:_**

+ Detailedunderstanding of visualization and image processing hardware including stereoscopicimagers using various video formats, high bandwidth transmission of video viacopper and fiber, FGPAs, GPUs, and 3D displays

+ Understanding ofcritical performance specifications for visualization systems and techniquesand test methods to evaluate them

+ Demonstrated useof traditional image processing methods, as well as, machine learning enabledtechniques using parallel processing techniques optimized for use on FPGAs andGPUs

+ Understanding of SWdevelopment, dataflow architectures and real-time operating systems

+ Working knowledgeof medical imaging modalities and imaging formats that can be used for advancedprocedures and image-guided surgery
