Virtual Account Manager - Early Stage Biotech and Academics

What you'll do

Manage customer relationships and drive and close sales in Research Academia and Early Stage Biotech accounts. Create, nurture, propose and close on attractive leads aligned to overall sales goals.

  • Own end to end selling process (from Prospect to Post-Purchase) through volume-driven remote prospecting and support from Lead Development Representative
  • Generate customer leads and contact customers (e.g., cold call, email)
  • Respond to pre-sales inquiries
  • Assess customer needs and pull in internal technical experts (e.g., Sales Specialists, Field
  • Application Specialists) as required to address technical needs
  • Develop proposal, generate quote, negotiate with customer stakeholders, and finalize product specs
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality product, coordinating with Customer Service to update customer of any changes to the delivery timeline or order process
  • Coordinate installation and customer training on product, pulling in internal technical specialists as necessary
  • Identify additional selling opportunities across portfolio and build customer relationship
  • Take ownership of own pipeline and accountable for sales targets, proactively reviewing conversion rates, bottlenecks, and speed to close; seek and receive coaching as needed from manager
  • Raise account to respective Zone Leader when account revenue size, frequency of purchases, and overall complexity exceed Virtual Account Management thresholds

    Who you are

    • 2+ year(s) selling related work experience
    • A high performing Sales specialist or Account Manager may be eligible to transition into the Virtual
    • Account Manager role, depending on the rep and manager recommendation
    • Skills & Competencies required
    • Exceptional phone prospecting skills with organized follow up and closing capabilities in order to market our products and services and establish strong customer relationships
    • Proficient communication skills allowing for confident representation of the high value, product quality and diverse capabilities
    • Established work ethic and ability to multitask
    • Strong business technology/software experience including proficiency with Microsoft Office
    • Self-starter- comfortable setting and working towards ambitious goals; and working independently and in teams experience with SalesForce.com
    • Life Sciences experience
