Vice President, Global Assessment Specialist

The Global Assessment Specialist will support Citis Global Assessment Manager on selection and assessment methodologies and tools used across Citigroup. Your work in identifying, developing, implementing and validating tools and processes will help ensure Citi is selecting the highest quality talent. This role requires a blend of consultancy, thought leadership, technical and project management skills combined with a commitment to service excellence together with a highly developed commercial acumen and results focus.

The role is part of the Global Assessment and People Analytics and Insights CoE, which sits within Citis Talent Acquisition function. Building out our assessment processes and, more generally, improving our ability to make data driven HR decisions, is a priority at Citi. Therefore this will be a high profile role affording an opportunity to make a real difference to Citis Talent Acquisition practices. The role will be based in New York, where many of the People Analytics and Insights team are based, but will involve working on assessments at Citi globally.


  • Consult with recruiters, other HR partners (including Talent Management, Learning/Development, and Diversity) and business SMEs in research to understand business needs and make selection recommendations.
  • Develop business cases and influence stakeholders on appropriate actions.
  • Identify or develop appropriate selection tools and processes that meet the highest standards for validity, administrative efficiency, and legal defensibility.
  • Develop implementation guidelines, processes and communication strategies to build understanding and support for selection processes among key stakeholders.
  • Work within complex cross-functional, project teams to develop/redesign interview content/selection tools/practices.
  • Identify, evaluate and partner with external vendors as necessary.
  • Work with others within Talent Analytics to conduct validations, ROI studies, adverse impact and other analyses, to ensure appropriateness and effectiveness of selection tools and processes.
  • Provide coaching and/or training to HR/the business on the appropriate use of selection tools and best practice selection processes.
  • Partner with regional Recruitment, Legal and Diversity teams to ensure selection tools and processes are in accordance with local regulations and Citi Risk Control policies.
  • Work with internal Citi Compliance functions to ensure that our Third Party assessment vendor relationships are in governance.


  • Masters degree or equivalent in Industrial/Organizational Psychology
  • Min 3 years of experience in selection tool and process design, implementation, and validation in business settings (as an internal or external consultant)
  • Knowledge of assessment vendors across multiple countries
  • Knowledge of the wider assessment landscape and both traditional and disrupter methodologies (e.g. gamification, machine learning, AI)
  • Some international operating experience desired
  • Experience conducting training/education sessions for different audiences desired
  • Experience of working in complex/highly regulated environments desired


  • Knowledge of selection and assessment professional best practices, research, and laws/regulations
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; able to adapt technical messages to be understood by different audiences
  • Able to work effectively with a broad variety of stakeholders and partners from different cultures with varying levels of knowledge and experience with talent selection
  • Strong analysis skills and familiarity with analysis packages such as SPSS or R
  • Comfortable in a matrix/relationship driven environment which rewards collaboration and consultation
  • Comfortable working remotely; able to manage and participate in remote teams
