Description
The Capital Optimization group at Citi has a mission to combine and enhance the processes, systems and analytics through which Capital Planning, Capital Processes, Methodologies, and Actual & Forecasted Capital Metrics are adopted, used, calculated and reported across Citi (both ICG & Consumer Bank) while ensuring that changing regulatory requirements are met and a more sustainable global operating model is established.
This role will be focused on strategic initiatives in the Capital Optimization organization that significantly impact the banks overall capital position. The successful candidate will drive financial and regulatory process improvements, innovation and transformation with a focus on Capital Planning & Metrics, Capital Processes, Basel III, RWA, CCAR and Resolution & Recovery Plans. It will also involve developing new Capital Optimization capabilities and platform target end-states, reengineering, infrastructure enhancements/developments and related projects/programs execution.
The candidate responsibilities will include:
Defining and designing the target state strategic processes, infrastructure and operating model for Capital Planning, Capital Metrics and Capital Processes that would significantly impact the firms overall capital position and related actions and opportunities.
Execute and program manage capital optimization initiatives to centralize, strengthen & automate data capabilities, controls and best practices in capital planning and enable their early adoption for transparency and timely industrial strength analysis.
Provide business thought-leadership for connecting capital optimization aspects across the bank and for improving related company-wide processes and systems.
Substantively manage and contribute to improving and coordinating the banks capital methodologies and their continued enhancements across all of the firms businesses and legal entities (both ICG & Consumer Bank).
Program and project manage the strategic vision target state of required global infrastructure and capabilities in support of Citis Capital Planning processes.
Identify inefficiencies in current setup with a view to defining newer approaches and solutions that increase quality, consistency, transparency, and reliability for a long term sustainable and continually improving process.
Develop strategic end-state proof of concepts to validate and provide direction to related transformation and re-engineering efforts.
Understand how to champion complex processes and financials using most up to date solutions and technologies and following latest SDLC principles.
Exceptional oral communication and writing skills, with ability to synthesize complex concepts and translate them into 'user-friendly' approaches for multiple audiences, stakeholders and senior management.
Have the ability to lead and establish strong working relationships within Citi Finance, Treasury, ICG & Consumer Businesses, Technology, Risk Management, Legal, Audit and other counterparts or vendors involved.
Drive success criteria during all efforts and meetings and lead discussions with management and various stakeholders towards succeeding the various initiatives.
Continuously improve knowledge of business areas and expertise at corporate level within the above domains and become the trusted advisor and consulting leader for driving the work streams.

Qualifications


Qualifications
BSc/BA in Business, Finance, Computer Science/Information Systems, Engineering or related field. Masters Degree/MBA is a plus.
5 10 years experience in large financial institutions or management consulting (e.g. global consulting firms), preferably working in Basel III, Capital & Liquidity and/or financial services regulatory areas or resolution plans.
Experience in business analysis, financials, technology led transformation & re-engineering, big data, complex program/project management and change management is desirable.
Knowledge of Excel, MIS Metrics & Data, Workflow Analysis, and PowerPoint.
Understanding of Financial Statements, Capital, Basel regulations, RWA (Risk Weighted Assets), CCAR, Resolution & Recovery Plans, Market Risk and Credit Risk are all desirable areas of expertise.
