The Capital Optimization group at Citi has a mission to combine and enhance the processes, systems and analytics through which Capital Planning, Capital Processes, Methodologies, and Actual & Forecasted Capital Metrics are adopted, used, calculated and reported across Citi (both ICG & Consumer Bank) while ensuring that changing regulatory requirements are met and a more sustainable global operating model is established.
This role involves reengineering and execution of enhanced processes and strategic initiatives in the Capital Optimization organization that significantly impact the banks overall capital position. The role will help create nimble and improved global processes at Citi for major financial processes and regulatory/reporting requirements with a focus on Capital Measures, Basel III, RWA, CCAR and Citis Resolution & Recovery Plans. The position requires the ability to clearly communicate in both written and verbal formats, as well as a high level of organizational and analytical ability.
The candidate responsibilities will include:
  • Design the leading business view of the target state, operating model, required processes and infrastructure for long term sustainable Citi Capital Planning Processes, Metrics and Resolution & Recovery Planning.
  • Plan and execute upon both tactical as well as long term global initiatives and programs towards financial process regulatory improvements, innovations and transformations across the company.
  • Evaluate related firm-wide needs and drive their business requirements for building process and systemic enhancements and capabilities with a global view.
  • Manage deliverables towards the strategic vision of global capabilities for firm wide improved approaches towards automated Capital data collection, actuals, forecasting and attribution analysis to enhanced regulatory reporting.
  • Substantively manage, contribute to, and coordinate Capital process related methodologies and improvements/remediation plans as needed.
  • Identify inefficiencies in the current processes and capabilities towards increasing consistency, transparency, and reliability of reporting and actions to be taken as a result thereof.
  • Develop business side proof of concepts to facilitate the said enhancements and re-engineering efforts working together with Citi Infrastructure, O&T, other multiple partners, functions and stakeholders.
  • Develop a strong working relationships within Finance, Treasury, Technology, Risk Management, Businesses and other counterparts across the organization.
  • Execute upon initiatives to enable timely analysis and to surface new Capital Optimization, Planning and Resolution & Recovery Planning improvements.
  • Drive and lead discussions on initiatives with management and stakeholders.
  • Present in meetings and contribute actively to thought-leadership and best-in-class finance within the above domains.
  • Provide training to counterparts across the organization in the area of expertise.
  • Continuously improve knowledge of business areas and expertise at corporate level within the above domains and become a trusted advisor and consulting leader for driving the work streams.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSc/BA in Business, Finance, Computer Science/Information Systems, Engineering or related field. Masters Degree/MBA is a plus.
  • 5 10 years experience in large financial institutions or management consulting (e.g. global consulting firms), preferably working on Capital Processes, Liquidity, Treasury enhancements, Financial Metrics, Regulatory Reporting or Resolution Plans.
  • Experience in regulatory and financial process improvements and transformations, including programs/project management and change management.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office. Business understanding of how to use latest technology for complex business process improvements, metrics and quality enhancements and analysis.
  • Experience in corporate processes and metrics as related to Capital, Resolution & Recovery Plans, RWA, CCAR, Market Risk, Credit Risk, etc. and relevant banking regulations (e.g. FED, OCC, Basel III etc.), all being desirable areas of expertise.

  • Exceptional oral communication and writing skills, with ability to synthesize complex concepts, and translate into 'user-friendly' language for multiple audiences, including senior management, multiple internal constituents and regulators.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks, work independently as well as part of a team, and exhibit strong interpersonal and team influencing skills.
  • Enjoy variability in workload, particularly in a wide range of quantitative and non-quantitative initiatives and efforts.
  • Strong attention to detail, willingness to 'roll up sleeves' and produce a polished, high quality, accurate product; tireless work ethic with ability to work well under pressure.
  • Able to navigate through large organizations to streamline and summarize multiple information points.
  • Organizational savviness with ability to expand internal network across functions and various levels of seniority.
