Description


The U.S. Pension Investments Group is responsible for managing Citigroups U.S. Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Pension Plans , which is approximately $30 billion (USD). The Plans employ a diversified investment strategy which is similar to that of an endowment/foundation framework versus other U.S. corporate pension plans. The U.S. Pension Investments group is responsible for the execution and design of the Plans investment strategy and reports to an independent fiduciary committees comprised of senior Citigroup executives. 

The role supports the CIO and the Investment Committees and is responsible for contributing to the Plans investment strategies and allocations. This position is an independent role which is not supported by other team members in the group and will report initially directly to the
CIO (Chief Investment Officer). Therefore, requires good knowledge of alternative and traditional asset classes to perform the necessary function.

The roles primary responsibilities include:
  • Investment management and asset allocation for the companys Global Pension Investments division
  • Perform fundamental and quantitative analysis for the various asset classes
  • Enhance the investment and analytical processes across the asset classes and wherever new projects are taking place utilizing internal Pension Plan data and external data sources

Qualifications


  • Masters Degree required in Economics, Financial Engineering or related field
  • Designation (or progress towards) in the following areas preferred: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM)
  • Some programming knowledge: MS Excel VBA
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in financial services or asset management industry
