Summary

Responsible for driving the design of functional UI and User Experience across multiple media platforms within the Abbott ecosystem.

 

Collaborates with other designers, user experience experts and product specialists to define the newest multimedia experience for millions of customers as a member of a talented and fast-paced Digital solutions team of Abbott. Reports to Digital Transformation Lead  . Translates wireframes and requirements into pixel-perfect, typographically beautiful and development-ready experiences  as well as be a hands-on contributor in an extremely fast-paced agile environment. You should be comfortable creating experience focused results that balances the usability needs of the user while optimizing for key business metrics like conversion and retention.

 

You must be comfortable using data to validate design decisions and have experience with qualitative and A/B testing. You should have a clean sense of design and enjoy creating elegantly simple user experiences from otherwise complex workflows.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Work collaboratively with key design agencies, development engineers, product managers, executives, and other designers to build scalable solutions to improve the user experience

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience

 

Create deliverables such as process flows, wireframes, mockups and functional prototypes to effectively communicate design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors

 

Navigate a fast-paced Agile environment requiring independent self-direction with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication

 

Contribute to the product roadmap with ideas for evolving and iterating the user experience based on quantitative data and user research

 

Work with the product owners and cross-functional teams to come up with test options and utilize A/B testing to validate design solutions

 

Includes, UI design work, Designing pages and site interactions to segment users, effectively convey product benefits and drive trial conversion

 

Understands both front-end development and backend system capabilities.

 

Functions as the liaison and facilitates collaboration between the Product Management team and the other supporting functional organizations (Product Development, Engineering, etc.) to properly interpret and deliver accurate designs.

 

Gathers collaborative information to translate high level process goals into specific sub-processes with appropriate supporting artwork.

 

Supports the development of Product Strategies dependent on new services/features. Works with engineering and product management peers to ensure the strategy is successfully implemented.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

8+ years of experience in UI Design preferably in an agency setting with a sharp understanding of UX Design.

Agile scrum environment work experience preferred

Advanced skills in interaction design, information architecture, usability evaluation, and user research

Proficiency with  Adobe photoshop / sketch, Adobe CS, and InVision or other related tools proficiencies. (Must Have)

Expertise in UX software such as InVision, Axure, AdobeXD, Sketch, Balsamiq, etc preferred

Ability to quickly grasp goals and requirements from light specifications

Experience with conversion testing and landing page/funnel optimization

BA/BS degree in Design, HCI, CS, or a related field or equivalent practical experience  preferred

Experience building rich, interactive prototypes with some understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript (Not Mandatory)

Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks

Ability to analyze and interpret data and synthesize recommendations

Proficiency with Adobe prpducts Photoshop and MS PowerPoint

Strong business sense and sense of urgency to achieve business results

Highly accomplished designer in the digital realm and an innovative self-starter with fantastic collaboration skills

Possess empathy for users, knowledge of and passion for the entertainment industry

Ability to translate high level user interface designs or wireframes into pixel perfcet artwork

Proven experience delivering concepts, personas, user journeys, storyboards, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, etc.

A self-starter with an ability to excel in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
