The new Consumer Health Business in GSK is a fastmoving dynamic business, bringing together, as part of a joint venture with Pfizer, two exciting consumer-centric portfolios which include Oral Health, Respiratory & Skin, Pain and Wellness. A role in GSK Consumer Health offers the opportunity to work across a portfolio with true variety, with products including medicines, devices and cosmetics. This is an area of the GSK business which is highly innovation driven, offering its employees a consistent, fast-paced challenge and the chance to work with many other areas of the wider business, both locally and internationally, to help safely drive and maintain GSKs Consumer Health business.

As the US Wellness and Lip Care Lead you will be charged with the Innovation and Development of new products for the ChapStick and Emergen-C Brands. This role will be accountable for ensuring sufficiency of the Brand pipelines and delivering in-flight projects on agreed timelines and budgets. This exciting role leads and coordinates all Product Development activities in collaboration with US Innovation, Medical, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, Supply Chain and others on all programs under these iconic brands from Ideation to Launch

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following

  • Oversee and/or Lead all development programs under the ChapStick and Emergen-C brands
  • Provides technical leadership and direction to the NPD Team
  • Sets high standards for individuals in key areas of technical activities and effectiveness
  • Ensures a sufficient 3-year pipeline of development programs for both Brands
  • Develops strong, collaborative relationships with other departments/groups and fosters an environment of knowledge sharing
  • Engages in Category Consumer Understanding and Insights studies to help ensure that all Category projects are routed in consumer needs
  • Verifies product prototypes with Consumers to ensure developed products meet desired experience
  • Provides NPD input into Innovation Briefs, Due Diligence on licensing and Business Development opportunities
  • In alignment with R&D Brand Lead reviews quality of data, reports and documents produced by team; directs the recording and reporting of results
  • Ensures that documents, formulations and analytical methods produced in accordance with appropriate levels of GMPs, SOPs and safety requirements; ensures appropriateness of specifications for drug substances/products
  • Accountable for all R&D spend on target Brands

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • BS degree in Chemical, Pharmaceutical or related science
  • Experiencein the development of conventional and novel solid, semi-solid and/or other dosage forms that brings consumer-need innovation to market.
  • Experiencedunderstanding of Drug and Food GMPs as relevant to GSK Consumer Healthcare
  • Experiencewith FDA, European and global regularity requirements, such as ICH Excellent
  • Experience in scientific and commercial aspects of Consumer Healthcare industry
  • Experienceof theDevelopment Principles such as: Quality by Design (QbD), Operational Excellence (OE) and Value Engineering / Design to Value and how they apply in a Consumer Healthcare R&D environment
  • Experience in cross functional team leadership
  • Experience in project management to include mentoring and guiding team members

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • MS or Ph.D. degree in Chemical, Pharmaceutical or related science
  • Experience in change agility and strong decision-making throughout multiple environments and teams
  • Experience in oral and written communication skills with all levels within the organization as well astechnical writing capability
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, leading and developing people to build strong collaborative teams working in a high-performance environment in a culture that values scientific rigor and empowerment
  • Experience incommunication and/or network with regulators, external collaborators and/or scientific experts
  • Experienced negotiating and agreeing timelines and milestones with sponsors/ business partners and continually monitoring progress to ensure timely delivery
