The **Upstream Senior Product Manager** is a leader in shaping the
direction of the Diabetes Automated Delivery Systems business unit through
transformational product strategies. Through cross-functional contributions, you will be
responsible for developing new products as well as defining winning product
strategies via collaboration with Product Marketing, RD, Regulatory,
Clinical, and Business Development. You will have the
opportunity to work on a variety of projects for the business units rich
product pipeline.


The **Diabetes Group** works with the global community to transform diabetes care by
expanding access, integrating care, and improving outcomes so people with
diabetes can enjoy greater freedom and better health. The Group focuses on
empowering people with diabetes in need of insulin therapy to achieve better
outcomes with smart, simple, accessible and connected solutions.

**A Day in the Life**

**ProductStrategy New Product Development**

+ Lead and supportproduct development decisions for future Automated Delivery Systems BU productlines, influencing key stakeholders such as Human Factors and RD toachieve product objectives for ease-of-use, comfort, appeal and consumer drivenarchitecture.

+ Through deepunderstanding of current business, be able to articulate future steps needed tocontinue the growth trajectory of business.

+ Generate businessplans, market requirements documents, presentations and supporting materials toalign all functional groups behind a common product vision.

**Cross-FunctionalTeam Participation Leadership**

+ Participate incross-functional teams to optimize future Automated Delivery Systems BU productstrategy around given business needs, market needs, customer needs, technicaltrade-offs, schedule limitations and resource constraints.

+ Work with othermarketing partners to understand unique customer business needs andensure product requirements are aligned with global products and strategies.

+ Interact withBusiness Development team to identify acquisition, licensing and otherpartnership opportunities

Travel requirement: 20-30% -
domestic and international

General responsibilities may include the following:

+ Develops programmarketing plan including strategies, objectives, tactics and budgets

+ Conducts marketanalyses to maintain an appropriate level of understanding of health carefinancing, organization, systems and standards for care delivery to support programmarketing plans.

+ Initiates marketresearch regarding economics of care delivery.

+ Establishes andexecutes promotional strategies required to support program marketing plan.

+ Develops andmaintains relationships with health system customers to understand customerneeds.

+ Also develops andmaintains relationships with internal business unit, marketing and sales staffto develop and execute the program marketing plan.

+ Serves astechnical adviser, demonstrating products and troubleshooting product issues.

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor'sdegree and 7+ years of relevant experience or advanced degree with a minimum of5+ years of experience

+ Upstreammarketing, product development, systems, or human factors engineeringbackground required

**Nice to Have**

+ MBA preferred, but not required

+ Bachelors degree in Science or Engineeringfield highly preferred

+ 1+ year of experience in medical device,pharma, healthcare or biotech or consumer goods

+ 1+ year of experience in product developmentor marketing in a large, multinational company

+ New product voice of customer/market researchand design experience

+ Cross-functional product management(ownership) experience

+ Software product launch experience

+ Knowledge of medical device industrypractices, techniques and standards (e.g., role of clinical trials,reimbursement landscape)

+ Experience working in a fast paced, globalorganization

+ Global perspective and mindset

+ Sound financial and/or business analyticalskills

+ Experience applying market research techniques,drawing conclusions and/or making recommendations based on data

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skillswith experience communicating with senior leaders.

+ Understanding of medical technology businessesand interest in medical products

+ Strong work ethic, high integrity, and workswell under pressure

+ Energetic self-starter who thrives inambiguous situations and drives to results

+ Ability to apply creativity and ingenuity tofind unique solutions to complex problems

+ Diabetes product knowledge is a plus
