Unified Communications Specialist

Deploys and supports hardware, network and telecommunications projects for the organization. Provides support for routers, switches, firewalls, VPN€™s and IP telephony, systems, servers, and other infrastructure equipment (hardware). Recommends and implements and supports network security policies, and safeguards. Ensures the IT infrastructure supports the development of the business and structural changes by assessing future needs and proposing changes and improvements where vital. Network Administration roles should be assigned to this job family.

Working as a Unified Communications Specialist for the Danaher Global Infrastructure team, you will be developing, maintaining and supporting a growing number of services for a large global enterprise. As a key member of our team, you will be involved in defining and implementing standards, automation and innovative solutions that support the success of our collaborative, science and technology driven businesses. This role has a solid focus on Microsoft Unified Communication, Collaboration services and their supporting technologies.

You will work with Corporate IT (Shared Services, Network, Security, Applications) architects, engineers, developers, support and leadership team on projects and provides domain expertise as vital.

Our customers are our associates, who are supported by local IT teams; the people in these local IT teams are your work with the customer. Maintaining a good relationship with our global IT teams is key to your success. In your role you will need to be able to connect with people at all levels in the organization and work with several of our suppliers and partners.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with key people in our global IT departments to provide secure, reliable Shared Services that you help craft, test, implement and support. Here are some of the systems and services that are important to your role:
  • Instant Communications (Skype / Teams)
  • Voice (Teams, Direct Routing, Call Center integration)
  • Office 365
  • Research and recommend improvements to existing services
  • Design, improve, implement automation processes with a goal to reach a zero-maintenance, zero downtime infrastructure where applicable
  • Mentor, guide, trains the support/operations teams through online sessions, documentation and site visits.

    Required Skills & Experience:
    • Bachelor€™s degree is required; computer science is preferred
    • 5 years€™ hands-on experience supporting large, sophisticated infrastructures and projects with extensive experience in enterprise operations with collaboration in scripting, process and monitoring
    • Significant expertise in the following technologies: (Azure) Active Directory, Microsoft Skype for Business Online, Microsoft Teams, video & audio conferencing, voice services, scripting with PowerShell and Microsoft Windows Server technologies
    • CIAM, MCSA, MCSE, MCSD certifications preferred
    • Proven track-record of optimally participating in technical implementations of new services as part of a project team
    • Proficient English interpersonal skills are required
    • Travel is required up to 25%
