U.S.Consumer Bank Chief Risk Officer

Key Responsibilities:

Develop/Manage the overall strategic direction of USCB Risk Management and ensure safety and soundness of the USCB portfolio and risk taking activities:

  • Provide Risk direction and expertise to the USCB CEO and Business Management team
  • Establish overall risk appetite for the portfolio in partnership with USCB Management and Citigroup Risk Management Leaders
  • Build strong cadre of risk SMEs and risk management organizational capabilities appropriate to the size, scope and risk challenges of the business
  • Manage the development, soundness & implementation of overall Risk Management credit and collections policies
  • Manage the development and execution of all NCL Forecasting, LLR/CECL, and CCAR/DFAST activities
  • Provide risk input to new and existing contract negotiations, leveraging Partner Management and Business Development teams
  • Assess Fraud and Franchise risk
  • Oversee the development and implementation of Next Generation capabilities
  • Monitor emerging risks from changes in Economic, Regulatory, Consumer, and Competitor or Political environments and assess and address the potential impacts to the USCB business
  • Maintain a strong Control/Governance Process
  • Establish & maintain strong, transparent relationships with Internal Audit, FCR and the Regulators
  • Define the path to/operate consistently within Heightened Expectations

    Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:

    • 20+ years of experience in credit card, mortgage and consumer lending risk management roles in a global organization
    • Demonstrated success in managing risk policy/strategy through the economic cycle and/or in various environments; protecting and growing the business as it enters and exits economic stress
    • Demonstrated ability to lead transformational change, including developing vision, end state and strategy / roadmap to reach end state
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and influence Risk and Operations executives
    • Experience includes credit risk, underwriting, modeling & analytics
    • Enhanced skills with Fraud & Collections are preferred
    • Proven understanding of risk in current environment (to include CCAR, stress testing, analytics and modeling)
    • Education includes experience in Quantitative methods. Masters Degree preferred
    • Possess skills and experience for at least an SCO 2 level designation or equivalent
