Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is seeking an Leica Dimensional Inspector to join our Iuka, Mississippi location. We are a world-class manufacturer of advanced composite structures for complex aerospace applications. Our work is mission critical and directly contributes to national security. **Responsibilities:**
Perform in-process and final dimensional inspections using Leica Laser Tracker System on tightly tolerance materials, components, subassemblies and final assemblies in the production areas. Performs required inspections in accordance with drawing, specifications, standard work and planning requirements. Supports customer source inspections. Documentation of non-conformances on materials, parts or processes. Reviews supplier paperwork, verifying material pass/fail criteria against engineering inspection requirements. Performs inspections on tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures for conformance to design. Works closely with engineering to setup parts for machining.

The ideal candidate is able to quickly adjust to changing work responsibilities on a daily basis. You are detail oriented, accurate and complete your work in a timely manner. You take initiative, work with limited direction, and enjoy leading small teams. You are comfortable on the manufacturing shop floor, and are highly trusted in your field of expertise.

Travel is less than 25% and within the US.

This is a first shift position. Working hours are from 7am - 5:30pm Monday-Thursday with overtime as needed.

**Qualifications:**

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant work experience
+ Experience with LEICA Laser tracker systems (Note: internal candidates may substitute a current active clearance in lieu of LEICA experience.)
+ Ability to utilize measuring devices including comparators, micrometers, scales, and calipers
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprint and engineering drawings and be able to document non-conformances as required
+ As needed, available to work extended or flexible schedule on short notice
+ Able to lift up to approximately 25 pounds; may occasionally lift 50 pounds (with assistance)
+ Ability to handle changing priorities in a fast paced environment
+ Demonstrated experience interfacing with external and internal customers
+ Excellent mechanical aptitude
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred:

+ Active Security Clearance
+ Work experience in manufacturing of composite parts.
+ Related industry experience in either manufacturing or inspection.
+ Aerospace or aviation experience strongly desired
+ Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, and other Quality / auditing / accreditation systems strongly preferred
+ Experience with Vertec systems
+ Experience with other dimensional inspections systems
