Job Description:

The Raytheon Large Scale Integration Center at the Louisville, KY facility is a strategic make center structured under the Missile Systems business unit of Raytheon Company. Interns can expect to assist Manufacturing and/or Production Test Engineers on a variety of projects. Manufacturing and Production Test Engineers are responsible for designing, controlling and improving the manufacturing process and system design, through a collaborative effort with operations engineering, quality engineering, operations management and supervision, and manufacturing and test specialists. Manufacturing Engineers focus mainly on product assembly/procedures and Production Test Engineers focus mainly on the test equipment and procedures required to verify the product meets the specified performance.

Tasks may include the following:

Work with design and systems engineering to support and implement design changes

Assist in efforts around reduction of process cycle times and defect reductions

Assist in the development of test equipment and establishment of test requirements and procedures

Ensure the operation of test equipment and associated work instructions are accurate per the technical data packages of the products within area of responsibilities

Ensure test equipment and software meet the test requirements specified for the product

Monitor and improve the manufacturing and test process through analysis of predictive metrics of trends, failure modes, and test yields

Maintain changes to the test equipment technical data package which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals, and system software

Assist in efforts around reduction of process cycle times and defect reductions

Assist projects that result in improved manufacturing processes and safer and more efficient work areas

Develop new tooling concepts

Required Skills:

Pursuing Bachelor's or Masters degree of science i
n Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)

Have the ability to obtain a final DoD SECRET security clearance (requires US citizenship)

Desired Skills:

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Excellent writing, speaking, analytical, organizational skills
Work Location: Louisville, KY
This position can be a Salary Grade ST02, ST03, ST04 or Salary Grade ST05 based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:

ST02 (Sophomore Technical Intern) - must have completed 30 hours of college
ST03 (Junior Technical Intern) - must have completed 60 hours of college
ST04 (Senior Technical Intern) - must have completed 90 hours of college
ST05 (Post Grad Technical Intern) - must have completed 90 hours of college

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
