Your Role and Responsibilities
This is a regular, full-time position for a Technical Sales Specialist within the IBM Global Solution Center in Coppell, Texas. The Global Solution Center is a world-class client center where teams of Industry Solution Architects, Specialists, and Designers bring IBM together to accelerate solutions to help clients innovate and address their most challenging business problems. This person will work with team members and clients to create high quality proofs-of-concept and generate technical sales assets for the progression or close of solution sales opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design / implement / lead the actualization of complex solutions with in-depth product, technology, and industry-related specialized skills in support of client opportunities, including Proof of Concepts and sales assets. This technical sales specialist role is one of the key fundamental roles required in the technical pre-sales support mission of the Global Solution Center.
  • Leverage and exploit IBMs cognitive and cloud capabilities in support of client activities and actualization of sales assets.
  • Innovate in all areas of the job, including sales asset creation, direct and indirect client support, and in IBMs intellectual capital / patent industry-leading program.


Required Professional and Technical Expertise
  • At least 3 years of experience in application and/or user interface programming, including design and implementation expertise in the IBM Cloud
  • At least 3 years of experience in front-end UX development with HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, Flex
  • At least 2 years of experience in front-end UI development with React.js, Redux, JavaScript, ES6
  • At least 2 years of experience in backend development with Node.js
  • At least 2 years of experience with databases such as NoSQL, Cloudant, CouchDB, MySQL
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mobile application development
  • Familiar with IBM Cloud capabilities, offerings and approaches
  • Familiar with IBMs cognitive capabilities, offerings and approaches
  • Proven action orientation, using creative problem-solving skills and adapting to new projects and technologies quickly
  • Demonstrated communication skills and works well in project teams
  • Fluent in English


Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise
  • Experience in Consumer, Consumer Packaged Goods and Travel & Transportation industry-specific requirements and use of technology
  • Experience in analyzing client needs, requirements and expectations
  • Demonstrated client presentation and storytelling techniques
  • Active in generation and acceptance of intellectual capital / patents
  • Familiar with Agile development environment
