Technical Program Manager for Research & Development Outsourcing

Job Description

Global Supply Chain (GSC) Supplier Research & Development outsourcing under Research & Development Strategic Enabling (RDSE) is looking for suitable candidates for an R&D outsourcing Program Manager position.

This position is supporting Research & Development (R&D) outsourcing for product development on Intel process as well as external foundry. The position will involve working with team on monitoring and tracking supplier roadmaps, capabilities, consolidation, emerging capabilities and working with business unit partners to map Intel Research & Development (R&D) outsourcing needs versus supplier capabilities and schedules, identify gaps and drive action plans to drive solution for Intel needs. The person will drive and manage the execution of specific Research & Development (R&D) outsourcings with suppliers.

In this role there will also be a need to drive and support key initiatives to enable flexibility on Intel process, such as partnering with Internal design teams for the design flow.

The position requires insight into the capabilities of the R&D outsourcing markets and design technical knowledge along the Intel product design flow. This person will also partner across supplier account managers and Business Units to drive a cohesive Internal/External Research & Development (R&D) outsourcing.

This position requires some travel; in addition, given the global distribution of Intel's design teams and suppliers, there will be meetings scheduled outside of your normal business hours. This position requires being available for off hour issue resolution.

  • Problem solving skills using multiple resources to resolve customer, stakeholder and supplier issues.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills since most of our communications with internal customers, partners, and external suppliers are via telephone and email.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Qualifications listed as preferred or additional will be considered a plus factor for applicants.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technical field of study, Supply Chain or Business Administration with 10+ years of commercial/ technical experience and leadership, in the field of Research & Development; or Master's degree/MBA or an engineering or technical field of study with 8+ years of related experience in semiconductor technology and leadership.
  • 5+ years of Research & Development Outsourcing and supplier management experience.
  • This U.S. position is open to U.S. Workers Only. A U.S. Worker is someone who is either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the U.S. Government. Intel will not sponsor a foreign national for this position.
