This Business Development Manager, SOUTHCOM/Latin America, will lead all phases of the business capture process including early opportunity identification, requirements shaping, qualification, competitive assessments, development of 'win' strategies, as well as participate in proposal efforts, and collaborate with other L3Harris representatives in the region to maximize opportunity wins for the Company in Latin America. This role will be responsible for delivering on an annual bookings quota.

The Business Development Manager, SOUTHCOM/Latin America will initially focus on developing relationships at SOUTHCOM, and developing business opportunities through that channel, especially focusing on Foreign Military Funding (FMS) opportunities.  The candidate should have specific expertise to develop white papers and other concept presentations to support prospect development.  The Manager will also collaborate with L3Harris Communications Segment personnel working Latin America to leverage existing relationships in pursuit of new business opportunities.  Ultimately, this role will be responsible for Business Development for Broadband Communications Systems across the Latin American region.

Qualified candidates will have a strong understanding of military communications and associated business development process, strong communications skills, and experience with military customers.  International experience, and strong knowledge of ISR markets and associated communications a significant plus.  A competitive compensation package, including incentives, will be offered.

This position will execute all business development activities (campaign, individual pursuits and the associated strategy, etc.) in the following areas:

  • Developing relationships with key customers in the Latin American region – military and Government organizations, key prime contractors
  • Identifying and managing distributors/partners in assigned area
  • Prospecting to identify potential opportunities, and progressing through the sales cycle
  • Understanding the U.S. Foreign Military Sales Process, and accessing/leveraging U.S. Foreign Military Funding (FMF) channels

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must have US Citizenship
    • B.S. Degree in an engineering or technical discipline and 6 years of directly related work experience with SOUTHCOM in a military or Department of Defense business development, engineering or program management environment is required. 
    • Strong technical knowledge of the military data link market
    • Experience in marketing, sales, business development with military customers preferred
    • Experience writing successful proposals to military customers preferred
    • Proven track record in building and maintaining relationships in our industry.
    • Good oral and written communication skills are required.
    • General computer literacy, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and/or similar tools.
    • Able to travel on short notice
    • Able to travel 50-75% of the time
