About the role

The Talent Acquisition Lead (Supply Chain) will be responsible for managing complex, standard and non-standard strategic Talent Acquisition initiatives. These initiatives will include talent pipelining for niche EfW roles, enhancements to systems/technologies, process improvements, and vendor relationships. The role can be based in Morristown or remotely, ideally near a Covanta EfW facility.  


Immediate Priorities  

  • Lead the recruiting for all facility/ EfW plant leadership roles, including candidate management and Offers. These leadership roles include - Area Managers, Facility Managers, Operations Managers, Maintenance Managers
    • Pipeline High caliber talent, with ability to move up and relocate
    • Special focus on attracting diversity talent
    • Conduct Behavioral interviews
    • Provide regular reports/ updates/ metrics
    • Coordinate phone/ zoom Interviews, with the help of admin support
    • Enhance job descriptions as needed, and ensure consistent adoption across all requisitions
    • Partner with Corporate TA team for Morristown interviews
    • Leverage LinkedIn and Covanta networks
    • Targeted advertising in relevant sites and publications
    • Participate in relevant Industry and Career events


  • Search, evaluate, engage and manage vendor(s) for talent pipeline development or new talent sourcing channels for EfW business
    • Manage vendor(s), drive KPIs, SLAs and ROI 
    • Maintain a list of target companies


Strategic TA Initiatives 

The TA Lead will also be responsible for strategic initiatives. A sample list is provided below (subject to change)

  • Co-op Programs 
  • Diversity recruiting programs, veteran recruiting in particular
  • New vendors, sourcing channels and/ or recruiting technologies
  • Growth projects/ new facility start ups

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of strong experience in talent acquisition/ recruiting for facility leadership roles
  • Experience with industrial, manufacturing, engineering, energy, specialty chemicals or waste management industry
  • Talent Sourcing SME

Preferred Experience / Nice to have

  • Experience with Workday Recruiting, Peoplefluent, ICIMS, Taleo or Brassring ATS
  • Experience with an ATS implementation, ideally Workday Recruiting

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of talent acquisition concepts, practices, trends and procedures, including knowledge of relevant state and federal employment laws and hiring guidelines
  • Demonstrate a high level of responsiveness and move with the urgency as needed
  • Ability to elicit trust and credibility with all levels of the company
  • Ability to extract, analyze and present data
  • Knowledge and understanding of other HR disciplines including employee relations, compensation, training, and benefits
  • Expert knowledge of Applicants Tracking / Recruitment Management Systems
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Travel about 20-30% of time
