Job Description

Engineers work in a variety of fields to analyze, develop, and evaluate large-scale, complex systems. Yulista Tactical Services, LLC (YTS) is seeking a full-time Aviation Engineer to support current and future fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft modification, repair and maintenance. Selected candidate will work for the YTS Chief Engineer to solve engineering problems and develop engineering support concepts to meet aircraft modification, repair, and maintenance projects. Work includes interpreting engineering drawings and specifications and working with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.

Assist in the verification of aircraft system and subsystem requirements.

Help assess customer-provided drawings and specifications to develop manufacturing approach.
Help manage quality for the manufacture of aircraft components.
Employ scientific and engineering principles to design, develop, test, evaluate, and/or determine maintenance requirements.
Develop pricing and availability information from customer-provided Bill of Materials (BOM).
Create a BOM from customer-provided drawings.
Work directly with aviation vendors and service providers to develop concepts to meet customer needs.
Read and modify 2D and 3D CAD files.
Create Statements of Work (SOWs), specifications and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
Develop Program documentation that includes but is not limited to Integrated Master Schedule, Work Breakdown Structure, Engineering Master Plan, Systems Engineering Management Plan, Acceptance Test Plan and System Safety Hazard Analysis.
Prepare reports and presentations for leadership and customers, to include Monthly Status Reports, Weekly In-Progress reviews and Test/Inspection reports.
Communicate effectively with all levels of employees throughout the organization.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
Maintain proper and effective communication with government leadership, customers, and project participants.
Support test development, execution, and reporting to meet airworthiness, system and aircraft qualification requirements.
Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.


This job has no direct reports and no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Requirements

Knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of aerospace engineering in general and a working knowledge of other engineering and scientific fields as they relate to military aircraft.
Knowledge of engineering techniques to include requirements analysis and design methodologies.
Ability to apply knowledge to the development of new methods, approaches, or procedures and to solve problems for which no established theories or precedents exist.
Ability to interpret aircraft drawings and specifications and work with aircraft mechanics, aircraft electricians, avionics technicians and aircraft and power plant mechanics.
Ability to interpret design drawings and specifications and work with machinist, welders, wire harness builders, and skilled craftsmen to build components for aircraft.
Basic to intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Knowledge of database software, spreadsheet software, scheduling software, job costing software and word processing software desirable.
Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Strong interpersonal skills needed to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Routinely interacts with external contacts such as customers, vendors, shipping companies, etc.
Ability to learn and understand Yulista corporate policies and procedures.
Must always represent the company in a professional manner.
Must be trustworthy will handle confidential information routinely.
Must possess effective communication skills to communicate information clearly to others.
Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service, and follow-up.
Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.
Ability to follow a process.
Ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to Chief Engineer.
Able to perform basic mathematical computations, detect unobvious facts and issues, and exercise resourcefulness in resolving problems.
Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively plan and organize duties to meet deadlines.
Ability to work with concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Ability to interpret and communicate project plans and drawings.
Ability to work independently after direction provided by Chief Engineer.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to travel if required.

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
2-4 years of experience working in Aerospace and/or aircraft modification, repair, and maintenance is required.
Experience working with manned fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft is preferred.
Experience working in Department of Defense (DoD) aircraft modification, repair and maintenance facilities is desired.
Experience with military aircraft is desired.
Experience with unmanned aircraft is desired.
FAA-approved engineering certification is not required but useful.
Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred.
Ability to pass a drug and background screening.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Active DoD Secret clearance preferred.
