We are looking for an individual who is excited to learn new technology.  The Application Engineer is responsible for the production support and maintenance of revenue cycle applications and third party integrated products.  This includes applications and workflows such as registration, scheduling, ADT, charge capture and billing.  This position works closely with our patient financial services team to design and implement enhancements supporting revenue cycle workflows; builds and tests functionality for upgrades, organizational projects and initiatives; develops documentation on supported applications, workflows, and processes.  This position partners with other Information Systems teams, VMMC business units, external customers and vendors to maximize system availability, capacity, and functionality.\n

Qualifications:

    \n
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.\n
  • Minimum of 4 years experience working with computers.\n
  • A working knowledge of programming languages and database design.\n
  • An understanding of PC, mainframe, and network technology.\n
  • In-depth understanding of the client's business.\n
  • Strong task management skills.\n
  • Excellent communication skills. \n
  • Strong analytical skills.\n
  • Effective interpersonal skills. \n
  • Ability to be flexible.\n
  • Able to handle multiple tasks.\n
    Preferred skills / experience:\n
    \n
      \n
    • Experience in healthcare related revenue cycle management applications (registration, admit, discharge and transfer activities, scheduling, charge capture, insurance and patient billing).\n
