SVP, E-Trading Credit Risk Manager

E-Trading Risk Management (ETRM) is a growing team within the Risk organization. ETRM covers E-Trading activities across all asset classes (FX, Equities, Rates, Credit, Futures and Commodities) and works across all risk strips Operational, Market, Credit and Model Risk, as well as Independent Compliance Risk Management (ICRM).

The E-Trading Credit Risk lead will be responsible for supporting the continued enhancements to the E-Trading Risk Management Framework with a focus on Credit Risk. She/He will serve as the liaison between ETRM and Credit Risk Management, coordinate credit risk initiatives with E-Trading impacts and drive the review/challenge/approval of E-Trading credit risk controls. The candidate must have in-depth experience with Credit Risk management and a reasonable understanding of the E-Trading risk, governance and controls.

The candidate will be expected to contribute to thought leadership within the ETRM organization on framework development, risk assessment and controls across the markets products and underlying technology. Excellent communication skills are required to drive dialogues among diverse stakeholders at senior levels.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Provide Credit Risk subject matter expertise to the E-Trading Risk Management team and second line E-trading RM forums.

+ Partner with CRM to enhance Citis 2LOD E-Trading Credit risk framework, managing E-Trading credit related workstreams, priorities and tracking framework issues and gaps

+ Partner with in-business CR teams to enhance Citis 1LOD E-Trading Credit risk framework

+ Working with 2LOD Credit RM, challenge business E-trading credit risk appetite and participate in the review and approval of E-Trading Credit Risk limits and controls

+ Review and respond to E-Trading Credit Risk intraday limit breaches

+ Participate in the implementation of E-Trading credit checks and their effective integration to an approved credit engine

+ Identify and assess credit risk associated with E-Trading activities booked in the respective legal vehicles

+ Evaluate Credit Risk associated with new E-Trading strategies and material changes to existing E-Trading strategies

+ In coordination with Markets business and other Risk functions, enhance the existing E-Trading risk framework and validate the ongoing Credit Risk management framework development for E-Trading risk management

+ Review and challenge business self-assessment and adherence to Citi Policy and standards for E-Trading risk management

+ Proactively engage in E-Trading related governance forums

+ Partner with other second line of defense colleagues in existing E-Trading processes and future initiatives


+ 10+ years of experience in either E-Trading front office or Credit Risk management Other risk and control disciplines would be a plus

+ Understanding of regulatory environment and best practices in E-Trading risk management

+ Analytical capabilities to review data and events, and identify areas of risk in the trading environment

+ Knowledge of E-Trading technology and key elements of trading architecture

+ Track record in creating an effective credit risk control environment

+ Superior communication (English verbal and written), facilitation and consensus-building skills.

+ Strong problem-solving skills; comfortable tackling complex problems and breaking these down into manageable pieces

+ Knowledge of markets trading products and electronic trade flows essential with a focus on automated trading systems a plus

+ Demonstrated ability to challenge traders or senior business management


+ Strong aptitude for analysis and problem solving

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

+ Self-Motivated

+ Willingness to learn

+ Excellent planning and organizational skills
