The Balance Sheet Control Grp Mgr is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. He or she will lead and direct a team of professionals and will need to build relationships outside of the Controllers organization to be successful. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. He or she must be able to apply in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. This position is accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. He or she must have excellent communication skills are required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level and limited external communication may be necessary. He or she must hold a strong sense of accountability for moving item forward and over road blocks. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, including performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.


**Responsibilities:**


+ Assists in providing guidance and support for Citi business units related to data remediation.

+ Assists in strengthening and providing controls in the data remediation process.

+ Supervises small to medium-sized Finance team(s).

+ Improves process efficiencies in line with goals.

+ Manages complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas.

+ Requires a comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function.

+ Accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/geographic regions.

+ Requires complex problem analysis and judgments with solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives.

+ Requires conceptual/ practical grounding in data and other policies as they apply to the business.

+ Manages a specialist function and may oversee processes performed in shared services in the same job family.

+ Perform other duties and functions as assigned

+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


**Qualifications:**


+ 10+ years of experience

+ Controller function, analysis, management and policy knowledge

+ Data Management experience a plus


**Education:**


+ Bachelors degree, potentially Masters degree


The Controllers Data Remediation team works closely with stakeholders to define, drive and execute an end-to-end process design and implementation efforts across Controllers activities, including global Finance groups, Finance functions, Chief Data Office (CDO), infrastructure partners and business partners in ICG and GCB. The Team will execute activities in support of Finance Transformation Plan sections for Data Remediation to support data consumption, data production, adjustment reduction and other remediation efforts.


This position will be the lead for the operationalization of data quality standards within Finances data strategy execution and is the opportunity to work on projects that are tightly linked to firm wide data quality improvements. This role will be involved in defining the strategic direction for the Controllers Data Remediation team in conjunction with leads from the Controllers organization and other stakeholders across Citi.


The individual in this role will manage teams of individuals that are focused on data quality for one of two primary workstreams: (1) data remediation; or (2) adjustment reduction.


The teams will focus on working with Controller teams to understand the issue, deep dive to capture the right level of information to populate the requisite remediation templates needed for various work streams. Activities include understanding root cause, capturing support of issue, working with remediation teams and remediating Controller owned Data Domain concerns by partnering with functional partners. They will follow up, communicate, test and circle back to originating team for testing, including UAT results.


Adjustment Reduction will center around efforts to reduce manual adjustments include understanding reason for adjustment, root cause analysis, working with remediation owners to ensure remediation and tracking of issues. This will include establishing an ongoing operating model for manual adjustments. The scope includes all manual adjustments in GENESIS, ledgers, reporting platforms and front office.
