Job Title:  Support Engineer

Location:  Newtown Square, PA (and various client sites nationwide)

 

Purpose and Objective: 

 

SAP America, Inc. seeks a Support Engineer at Newtown Square, PA location and various client sites nationwide to define and scope service engagements such as Business Process Performance Optimization Services and GoLive Support Services with the Premium Engagement Team and with MaxAttention customers, including identification of the customer's business critical processes and technical components to be included into the service delivery, estimation of effort and duration of the service delivery, determination of technical and functional resources required, definition of a workshop agenda, alignment with customer on delivery content.

 

Expectations and Tasks:

 

Perform service engagements such as Business Process Performance Optimization Services and GoLive Support Services as a technical  lead, including executing the service per service scope, creating a final report including issue descriptions, business impact, next steps and expected improvements, judge if the customer is in risk with his project and planned go live date. Tune and optimize the performance of SAP customer Business Process Performance Optimization Services and GoLive Support Services by adjusting database index design, adapting ABAP programs, fine tuning SAP configuration parameters, setting database parameters, adjusting workload management parameters,  System parameter. Perform weekend duties or regular week shifts in the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) backoffice supporting production down situations or very high issues. Serve as de-escalation architect to address, and resolve Mission Critical Support engagements or escalations. Create and define detailed technical action plans to resolve the critical issue. Liaise with C-level SAP management and C-Level customer management regarding action plans and status updates on issue resolutions. Perform overall analysis of situations at key accounts. Act as advisor in internal SAP meetings when analyzing top issues at a key customer and when judging the risk of a certain customer project with regards to timeline, complexity, level of effort. Provide knowledge transfer and lessons learned on HANA database and modeling, HANA database new features and how they are used in an SAP environment to team members of the Technology Center of Excellence. 40% travel required to various client sites nationwide.


Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, Information Systems, or a related field of study and 3 years of experience required.  The company will also accept a Master's degree and 2 years of experience.

 

Work Experience:

 

Experience must involve 2 years in the following: programming and debugging skills in Java and ABAP; HANA development and performance tuning skills including HANA SQL scripting and HANA modeling; HANA native development; HANA administration, architecture and optimization skills; End-To-End Root Cause Analysis; SAP Netweaver Architecture, administration, workload Analysis and Performance monitoring and Tuning. 40% travel required to various client sites nationwide.
