Job summary
AWS Payments Team builds and operates the back and front end platforms that enable customers to understand their financial status and pay for services. Our team owns customer financial experience and management tools for one of the world's largest commerce platforms. We are looking for a for a talented support engineer to join the team in Seattle.

Key job responsibilities
In this role, you are able to take a defined set of tasks and execute it on schedule. You identify ineffective processes. You may identify when technical implementations have defects or are not highly available, performant, or maintainable. You understand operational risk and avoid taking unnecessary risks. You identify operational concerns and resolve, mitigate, or escalate the concerns in a timely manner.


A day in the life
On a "typical" day, our engineers may dive deep to find the root cause of a customer issue, investigate why a metric is trending in the wrong direction, or discuss radical new approaches to automate operational processes. As a member of our team you will join a dedicated group of engineers who provide troubleshooting and operations support, and innovate to automate operational tasks.

About the team
As a member of AWS Payments Operations you will develop and implement processes to ensure our systems remain on the cutting edge. Our team creates, maintains, and enforces best practices in the organization to ensure the payments process for our customers remains safe, secure, and frictionless.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 1+ years of systems administration experience (Linux/Windows).
· 1+ years experience with cloud computing technologies.
· 1+ years of networking experience.
· 1+ years of experience with support procedures and methodologies for production computing environments.
· Experience working with scripting languages.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
· In lieu of above relevant work experience, degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· 2+ years experience with cloud computing technologies.
· 2+ years of networking experience.
· 2+ years of experience with support procedures and methodologies for production computing environments.
· Experience automating routine tasks.
· Experience troubleshooting.
· Experience with performance and log analysis.
€¢ The pay range for this position in Colorado is $58700 - 102,700 (yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
