Supply Chain Platform Manager

Provide Supply-chain / Operations program management and coordination for the Flex Cart program.  Duties to include developing a sustainable supply chain from the procurement, manufacturing, and logistics, and execution protocol to the end customer for the Flex platform.  Including development of costing, BOM structures, supporting pricing, business model(s) feedback, logistics and operational execution across a global customer landscape.   Duties may also include the development of new business and operational models required to execute on specific and unique customer requirements in an evolving business space.  Other duties may include but not limited to managing supplier sourcing, packaging, outsourcing, supply planning for each product lifecycle phase through product launch, and a manufacturing strategy for products within the platform. Drive design for cost and manufacturability, manage product cost, supplier requirements, data-based decision making, Risk Buy and Tooling decisions, manufacturing and supply chain readiness (capacity, continuity of supply, capability, Agreements), and manufacturing quality.  Dynamic BOM stability and change management.  Work closely with category managers to align overall supply chain plans for long term strategic objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


€¢Forms and leads cross-functional supply chain operations teams (comprised of Sales / Marketing, supply chain, category managers, Supplier Quality, Mfg Engineering, Supplier Engineering, Planning, and Logistics) to define the operational plan, sourcing strategies for new products, including recommendations for new supplier selection & evaluation as part New Product Introduction.
€¢Formulates operational strategy needed to support complex, unique business arrangements for product platforms throughout the product lifecycle.
€¢Serves as single point of contact to the manufacturing team to confirm supplier and production readiness in terms of production capacity and approved critical parts manufacturing prior to key product milestones
€¢Manages the transition of new products from development to pilot production then to volume production and support of the project schedules.
€¢Analysis of total cost of goods for each project with extended analytics in make versus buy decision criteria.  Supports the pricing of new business deals
€¢Leadership in adhering to the product development process of test and verification as part of the product release process.
€¢Strong interpersonal skills to lead and influence supplier selection and guide alignment to a sustainable long-term supply chain and manufacturability.
€¢Drive and manage the outsourced manufacturing partners as needed and the interface between the NPI Development team and the Operations.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


Education or Experience (in years):  

€¢Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of related work experience OR

€¢Master's degree in field with 8+ years of related work experience OR

€¢Doctoral degree in field with 5+ years of related work experience.
€¢A technical degree in (Masters or higher): Chemistry, Biology, Bio-engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Industrial Engineering a plus / highly desired

Knowledge and skills:  

€¢Perform regular cost rollups and analyze product cost performance and manufacturing cost models to drive corrective action as required to achieve product cost targets and manage the product cost roadmap and establish standard costs prior to production release.
€¢Fundamental understanding of should-cost or cost allocation & recognizes opportunities to improve product design for cost/quality/delivery with early supplier involvement.
€¢Work collaboratively with supply chain, logistics, and engineering stakeholders; develop supplier selection process for piece parts or outsourced assemblies and identify supply chain risks supporting sourcing decisions.
€¢Responsible for resolving discrepancies between cost targets and quoted costs, creates and delivers presentations to program executives and CFT stakeholders. 
€¢Provides feedback to engineering on DFx (cost, manufacturability), and manages resources to drive the assessment.  Leverage Supplier expertise where applicable.
€¢Engages with the PLC process to ensure alignment with the product deliverables for each phase and manages the Supply Chain deliverables.
€¢Supports new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements to/from the strategic supply base.
€¢Drives resolution to systemic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery, assets
€¢Be a thought leader to drive progress, efficiency, and optimization in process and product development.
€¢Business Model knowledge and input to the product plans to support the operational and supply chain designs

Physical requirements/abilities:  

€¢Some travel domestically and internationally is required (35%)

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (optional):

€¢Direct or related equipment or healthcare industry technical program management experience
€¢Knowledge of medical regulations, ISO 13485, GMP highly desired
€¢Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Power Point, Agile, and SAP
€¢Ability to read and interpret product Bill of Materials (BOM's), specs and drawings
€¢Must be a self-starter and be able to operate independent of day to day supervision
€¢Direct experience leading cross-functional teams
€¢Self-starter with the ability to adapt, critical thinking skills, and problem solve under pressure
€¢Contract/Supply Agreement Negotiations a plus

Work/responsibilities regularly span multiple job families within this job group. Ensures effective and efficient management, integration and continuous improvement of Supply Chain management processes and technologies from vendors through to customers and joint venture partners. Responsible for logistics planning and forecasting needs for products and services as well as distribution plans. Responsible for selecting and establishing vendor relationships and obtaining the desired value as well as defining and implementing strategy and process changes that improve turnaround times for optimal procurement of goods and services. Accountable for the logistics, warehousing and storage of products. Import/export roles with responsibility for the efficient and economical movement of goods (e.g., materials, products, equipment) in accordance with organizational policies and in compliance with relevant local, country and international customs laws and processes should be assigned to this job family.
