SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER, SOUTHEAST ASIA

 

Starlink demands a new type of supply chain. We require our suppliers to provide premium quality with rapidly evolving designs at commercial scale volumes. We are actively looking for candidates who possess comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and quality tools and have unrelenting motivation to enable suppliers for success. This position requires a combination of proven leadership and technical capabilities.

 

This is a technical position that requires practical experience in the areas of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and/or printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of these products with the desire and capability to take on new challenges in unfamiliar areas to help enable our mission to Mars. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with supply chain engineering, design, & operations to maintain consistency in supply chain quality systems, policies and processes across the organization
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve supplier manufacturing and quality processes to support SpaceX incoming quality control
  • Analyze supplier quality data and partner with supplier development engineers to drive supplier improvements and production part approval (PPAP) execution
  • Create, improve, and implement supplier quality processes
  • Create and implement action plans to rectify localized and systemic breakdowns with engineering, design, operations, maintenance & leadership
  • Understand production processes and how purchased parts integrate into higher level assemblies
  • Review and understand supplier issues, recommending and managing appropriate actions
  • Build relationships with cross-functional groups to identify, reduce and ultimately eliminate impacts from vendor defects
  • Coordinate and participate with non-conformance creation in localized material review (MRB), root cause, failure analysis, and corrective action (8D); utilize various analysis tools and make corrective action and containment recommendations
  • Provide training on quality policies and techniques throughout the organization
  • Develop, analyze, and present process metrics to encourage design for manufacturability, quality and supply chain improvements

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor€™s degree in a technical discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering, supply chain, or quality related field

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar training or experience
  • Experience with capacity modeling, process mapping and fault analysis
  • Experience with Pareto analysis, root cause, and corrective actions
  • Experience with DOE, failure analysis, and yield improvement
  • Experience with Minitab or other similar statistical analysis tools
  • Basic proficiency with SQL and data base structures
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, cross-functional environment, both independently and with a team
  • Ability to learn new skills on the job, both quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to identify and maintain priorities for tasks and projects
  • Language proficiency in Mandarin & English

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Position requires long hours and some nights and weekend as needed
  • Ability to travel: Up to 75% work week travel is required
  • Work authorization in South East Asia
