Position Summary and OverviewThe Supervisor Software Development, will use design and development leadership skills to lead the software design process. This position will apply software design principles to lead a team of designers and engineers to deliver consistent and timely software releases.  The position will lead development processes and projects using the latest in Agile and Scrum development methodologies, and champion best practices in SDLC throughout the suite of LBS software applications. As Supervisor, the position will facilitate a team approach to design and development, collaborating within their team as well as across other development and cross-functional teams. A key part of the role will be effective communication with other stakeholders locally and those in other LBS sites. Major Responsibilities - ·         Line management of associates in both development team and test teams- ·         Communicate progress and issues to senior management both locally and remotely- ·         Works collaboratively with project manager and partners to create resourcing and execution plans, regularly tracks team progress against objectives, identify and manage organizational risks to ensure successful accomplishment of objectives.- ·         Leader and champion of scrum agile development methodology.- ·         Play the Scum master role and guide teams with regard to project planning and technical leadership.- ·         Facilitate collaboration of teams with cross functional teams and Product Owners.- ·         Supervise and direct the design activities of software team members.- ·         Research and keep abreast of industry trends and approaches relevant to LBS products and solutions.- ·         Advocate the use of DBS tools such as Daily Management, Problem Solving, Standard Work, PRTI and others as appropriate to the needs of the business.- ·         Liaise on a global basis with the Group Quality, Regulatory and R&D staff.- ·         Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of all LBS products.- ·         Support needs of other managers as needed.- ·         The incumbent will be involved in interviewing new hires, guide and manage the daily activities of assigned reportees. Assign resources, monitor workloads, conduct performance assessments, coordinate discipline and oversee employee development.- ·         Set clear objectives, evaluate progress against objectives, and instil performance-oriented culture with a focus on accountability.- ·         Mentor direct reports with attention to individual professional and leadership competencies in order to help them achieve short-and long-term career development goals.Required Skills/Experience/Education·         4 year degree (Computer Science, Math, or Engineering) or equivalent industry experience·         Windows/ .NET 4+  framework and C# Programming Language·         Deep understanding of agile development methodologies.·         A minimum of 12 years€™ experience in Software Development·         A minimum of 8 years of experience as individual contributor.·         Proven experience with best practices in project management. ·         Strong experience leading scrum teams·         Work related experience of 2+ years in the management of staff numbering more than 4 persons.·         Excellent oral and written communicator skilled at creating alignment.·         Able to lead in a cross functional team setting working with team members from multiple functions and disciplines. Desired Skills/Experience·         Experience with design and development of FDA regulated medical devices.·         Experience with Medical Devices or Healthcare Domain·         CSM certification·         Six Sigma or strong process orientation. Competencies·         Managing Scrum Teamo    Demonstrated ability to provide clear direction and keep pace with desired timelines.o    Decisive and independent, able to make sound decisions to move the teams forward in line with stated department objectives. o    Clear understanding and practical know how of agile iterative principles and early customer involvement·         Collaborationo    The ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen cooperation and teamwork with associates throughout the organization. ·         Leadershipo    The ability to manage change, influence others, set vision and strategy, manage daily work to efficiently accomplish work, and develop and grow people.  Diversity & InclusionAt Danaher, we are dedicated to building and sustaining a truly diverse and inclusive culture.
