POSITION SUMMARY
Coordinates and facilitates workflows for assigned staff in the Hospital Health Information Management (HIM) department. Monitor s and supervises the clerical support staff to ensure compliance with all policies and Health Information standards. Responsible for managing the department in the absence of the HIM Manager/Director. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Associate s Degree in Health Information Management (HIM) from an accredited school or college

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year working experience in Hospital Health Information Management department or similar functions in a health care setting. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated leadership experience in HIM Department or similar health care setting.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
