We are seeking a Communications Manager adept in storytelling and cultivating strategic partnerships to lead the Customer Communications organization for Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector. This full-time position is located in California and reports to the director of Brand Experience.

In this role, the manager will be responsible for effectively crafting an integrated brand experience strategy and processing the development and integration of messages that speak to customers and visitors on the value of Northrop Grumman - our systems, our people and our innovation. The manager will also be responsible to providing guidance and support in the overall establishment of a visitor experience that ensures that every visit, event and activity delivers a solid, positive, and memorable impression of Northrop Grumman

Key to success in this role will be the ability to cultivate relationships, synthesize various input and drive the development of a story that illustrates points that connect with the intended audiences and aligns to the overall visitor experience. Primary internal stakeholders include sector, division and program leadership and communications, business development, civic affairs, government relations, legislative affairs and others.

The successful candidate requires strong communication skills, be a big-picture thinker, have an investigative nature and an affinity for collaboration, a drive to reach intended outcomes and a passion to embrace the value of a visitor's experience as a business imperative.

Core responsibilities:

+ Oversee the development of broad messaging and relevant collateral material specific for distinguished visits, events and activities
+ Serve as the primary focal point to Customer Engagement to integrate messaging into an overall story that elevates a customer's experience with our brand
+ Work with principals to simplify complex system and capability stories that are compelling, accurate and understandable for engagement activities at Aeronautics Systems and customer sites, industry meetings, special events and through our physical presence at tradeshows, air shows, conferences and symposiums
+ Operate with a sound financial, industry, government, military and political acumen to successfully guide messaging and appropriate visitor experiences in alignment with Northrop Grumman's brand and reputations
+ Establish and implement processes associated with the integration of messaging in the creation of a desired experience for distinguished sector and program engagements with visitors
+ Provide support to program, civic, site, media and functional communications teams in the development of strategic messaging to inform the development of customer messaging for visits, events and other activities.
+ Serve as a member on the Sector Trade Show and Sponsorship Council for Brand Experience

**Qualifications:**

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's degree in the discipline of Journalism, Strategic Studies, Communications, Marketing or Business in addition to 14 years of related experience in communications, government and/or in the aerospace industry
+ Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic communications strategies, tactics and activities and measuring the results of effectivity
+ Proven ability to convey complex information in a succinct manner using effective messaging, presentation and other creative components
+ Experience interfacing with key stakeholders to coordinate, facilitate, design and/or create events
+ Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
+ Advanced skills using MS Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Adobe Pro)
+ Ability to obtain an DoD clearance
+ Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time)

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Extensive experience with balancing a diverse workload in order to meet changing and competing requirements
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, grammar, and editorial skills, with attention to detail
+ Experience with multiple platforms/products and domains within the aerospace and defense industry
+ Knowledge, intellect and temperament to work effectively in a fast-paced and decentralized environment.

+ Strong sense for the development of a narrative to illustrate points that connect with intended audiences, and align to the objectives for the overall visitor experience
+ Inquisitive, disciplined, intelligent, confident and flexible
+ Capacity and confidence to prioritize and/or recommend messaging priorities to leadership
+ Ability to develop, collaborate and nurture relationships
+ Secret to Top Secret/SCI Security clearance desired
+ Ex ceptional writing, messaging and project/product positioning strategy skills
