**Swedish Medical Group is looking for a** **Sterile Processing Technician** **(1.0 FTE, DAY SHIFT) to work at the Ambulatory Surgery Center in** **Redmond, WA.**
_The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for: decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation, assembly and delivery of surgical procedure case carts, paring and replenishment of materials, and receiving and distribution of sterile processing supplies. The Sterile Processing Technician must be able to decontaminate and assemble surgical instrumentation using an automated Instrument Tracking System. Selects appropriate method of sterilization, verify parameters, and documents sterility accurately and appropriately._
**In this position you will:**
+ Assists in record keeping and verification of equipment
+ Performs duties including decontamination and sterilization of instruments and equipment; and inspecting and assembling surgical instruments, equipment, trays, and packs
+ Operates all sterilizers using appropriate sterilization techniques according to manufacturer instructions
+ Fills surgery case carts from predetermined listings. Delivers case carts to surgical area
+ Identifies and reports supply, equipment, and procedure problems.
**Required** **qualifications for this position include:**
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Completion of formal Central Services Technician or Sterile Processing Technician course or successfully challenged Course test
+ Provisional or Certified Registered Central Service Technician issued by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) or Current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician issued by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution (CBSPD)
**Preferred** **qualifications for this position include:**
+ Experience in an ambulatory surgery center
