Sterile Processing Per Diem Rotating Position Summary
Provides services in the decontamination and sterile processing areas whenever monitoring of sterilizers is needed. Collaborates with OR staff to provide sterile instruments and equipment needed for operative procedures. Assists with ongoing inventory of sterile supplies, equipment, schedule completion and communication for the department. Position performs duties in an independent manner.
Special Skills: Ability to read in English to follow oral and/or written instructions. Must perform repetitive duties on a daily basis, be detail minded and organized. Must be self-motivated and able to coordinate and prioritize workload in order to complete work and meet daily deadlines. Ability to adapt to changes in workload and flexibility to adjust work scheduled as assigned. Ability to communicate effectively with customers. Knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques. Thorough knowledge of instrumentation, equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

:
THE STERILE PROCESSING TECH PER DIEM ROTATING CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
Education
Required: High School diploma or GED. Completion of a formal Sterile Processing Technician course with field training.
Experience
Preferred: 1 year in sterile processing.
Certifications
Required: BLS. To be certified with IAHCSMM or CBSPD within 8 months.
Preferred: Current certification through internationally recognized organizations such as IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) or Certification Board for Central Sterile Processing.
