STARLINK ENTERPRISE PRODUCT ENGINEER

Starlink, our revolutionary satellite constellation, will deliver low-latency broadband internet worldwide. We are currently building the foundational teams that will support enterprise sales strategy. As an enterprise product engineer, you will work with a broad degree of autonomy to interface with customers and internal development teams to define future product and service offerings that expand the capabilities of Starlink€™s market offerings. You will lead the charge on scoping and developing key hardware and network technologies to serve various enterprise verticals and will partner with our sales teams to respond to specific customer needs. You will be critical to ensuring the business develops appropriately to best serve the commercial opportunity.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, scope, and prototype enterprise product offerings and features to leverage Starlink technology to meet needs of enterprise customers
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Starlink system design and capabilities in order to help solve customer problems and bridge discussions between customers and internal development teams
  • Partner with Starlink sales team to validate customer requirements in order to deliver improved or new product offerings 
  • Coordinate with various internal SpaceX teams (hardware design, network design, enterprise infrastructure solutions, etc.) to prioritize, develop, and launch new products and services to meet these enterprise customer needs on the appropriate timelines
  • Utilize product knowledge (along with professional selling and business development techniques) to assist sales team in identifying, proposing, negotiating and closing on Starlink enterprise services deals 
  • Represent SpaceX in various external forums and impart detailed information about SpaceX including customer meetings, trade shows, etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor€™s degree in an engineering discipline
  • Master€™s degree in an engineering discipline or 2+ years of professional experience in a test, design, or manufacturing engineering role

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated ability to drive multi-disciplinary projects to completion; hands-on project experience, preferably as a team or sub-team lead with demonstrated responsibility and accountability to the project and peers
  • Coding/scripting experience in python or similar
  • Strong understanding of hardware and software engineering first principles
  • Strong understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 network design
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude for the products supported
  • Understanding of satellite communication technologies
  • Strong analytical skills in business and technical issues

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and offsite as required
  • Ability to travel to support remote customers
