On the Mission Systems Sector team youll join our experts in developing systems and solutions that keep our world safe. Northrop Grummans Manufacturing Test Engineering department is seeking a Staff Electronics Engineer to support the Infrared Countermeasures suite of products. This position will be located at the Mission Systems Sector, in Rolling Meadows, IL.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

+ Highly cross-functional role, working directly with engineers of various disciplines, program management, quality, manufacturing.
+ Optimizing processes to reduce cost and increase throughput
+ Maintaining process and procedures in accordance with ISO standards
+ Working with suppliers to resolve technical hardware issues
+ Creating and analyzing metrics to target cost improvements
+ Providing technical leadership and guidance to Test Engineering team to complete projects meeting technical requirements within budget and schedule constraints.

Basic Qualifications:

+ Engineering degree (Bachelor or Masters) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
+ Have minimum 14 years of professional work experience (12 with Masters, 9 with PhD) in a related engineering field
+ Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
+ Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, articulate conclusions to the team and advocate for appropriate action; includes presenting up to executive leadership and customers.
+ Ability to perform well under-pressure for highly visible and urgent issues.
+ Experience with Test Equipment/Test Station design and development

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience with GitHub, JIRA, Confluence
+ Experience with Microsoft Project
+ Experience with Earned Value Management
+ Ability to read schematics and layouts and apply failure analysis procedures to identify the failure location, failure mechanism, and the root causes.


Salary Range: $149,000.00 - $223,400.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
