We are seeking an experienced Staff Computer Systems Engineer to assist the Capital Equipment Software Development team with producing top-notch software and secure products. This DevOps position will work on setting up and maintaining software development related infrastructure, networking and security related activities.

 Responsibilities include setup and optimization of infrastructure for software development and Continuous Integration activities to include version control systems, defect tracking systems, build servers and virtualization technologies.

This position will build upon and enhance security and performance of existing infrastructure and products. Experience with vulnerability assessments, encryption, key management technology and networking would be helpful in the execution of duties.

The individual chosen for this position must have a proven track record of working cooperatively in small to medium sized groups, as a member of a distributed team and have some experience supporting multiple geographical sites. Good communication skills, both oral and written, are a must for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide software tools for use by development teams in multiple locations.
  • Optimize Performance and Security of Development Environment.
  • Monitor Development environment and systems used by related teams.
  • Research and enhance infrastructure to support patching of medical devices.
  • Use best practice to maintain high availability and minimize disruptions to Production environments.
  • Create Documentation for Infrastructure and Systems including Requirements, Test Plans and Reports.

    Required Education & Experience:

    • BS in Engineering, preferably in Computer Science or related field.  Additional 4 years experience working in computer, networking and cybersecurity.
    • 7 or more years experience in DevOps, including the following:
    •  Linux based infrastructure setup including IPA with replication and integration with AD.
    •  Setup of Enterprise Server Software including multi-site Version Control (Perforce), Remote Connectivity and CI Systems.
    • Scripting or programming with Perl, Python or similar language
    • Software Delivery and Patching – Linux and Windows.
    • Experience setting up filers and high end server/workstation hardware
    • Installation and maintenance of Relational Databases: MySQL, MariaDB. Some experience with Oracle and MS SQL schema creation and backups.
    • Experience with Secure Code Development, CyberSecurity grading and vulnerability assessment tools.  Highly desirable to have experience with openssl or similar tools for key generation and manipulation.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and spoken form.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      •  Experience implementing NFS/CIFS caching technology.  Example: Riverbed.
      • ·Linux Operating system Performance Tuning and Security enhancements.
      • ·Windows Operating system Performance Tuning and Security enhancements.
      • ·Web Site management including Apache and authentication/authorization via IPA and AD.
      •  Mobile App development.
      • Experience with Satellite, Spacewalk, yum or related Linux patch update systems including delivery to disconnected medical devices.
      • Familiarity with SCCM, WSUS, MDT or related Windows patching systems including delivery to disconnected devices.
      • Previous experience in a regulated industry, preferably medical devices.
