Job Description:

Designs, plans and executes biostatistical analysis for research and development projects that establish the conditions essential for determining safety, efficacy, and marketability of in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) products. Develops and/or applies statistical theories, methods, and software. May collaborate in the production of the study protocols, and the collection, management and/or reporting of data.  Develops automated data analysis reports.  Develops and employs computational tools to analyze biological data. 


  • Performs statistical analysis and prepares summaries of analytical data for use by regulatory agencies or project teams in order to evaluate the performance of new and improved products.
  • Leads identification of aspects of experimental design that will measure the effectiveness and utility of the clinical chemistry and immunoassay products or processes being investigated.
  • Designs and analyzes studies for product characterization in feasibility and test method validation to support product design transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
  • Effectively communicates complex statistical and technical concepts to internal and external partners.
  • Writes documented and validated statistical programs for analysis and reporting.
  • Stays current on changes, innovations, and trends in statistics, medicine, and industry best practice through networking, studying and contributing to publications and/or presentations.
  • Collaboration with multiple functions across geographies required.
  • Provide training and support to scientists and engineers in statistical techniques and software tools.


    • Specific expertise in variance components estimation, regression analysis, repeated measures analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), and sample size calculations is a plus.
    • Experience in bootstrap and Monte Carlo simulation techniques is a plus.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
    • Willingness and ability to learn new techniques and applications.
    • Proficiency with R software required.
    • Experience with JMP, SAS, Minitab, Excel software is a plus.
    • Relational database experience, including SQL and Oracle, is a plus.
    • Master€™s degree with 7+ years of experience or PhD with 4+ years of experience.  Graduate degree in Statistics or Biostatistics preferred.
