The Global Fulfillment, Transportation and Delivery Solutions Design Team seeks a customer obsessed and innovative Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to manage warehouse design programs concept to delivery for our current and next generation Robotic Operations Solutions. This role requires the Sr TPM to work across Industrial Design, Hardware Engineering and Software Engineering teams within Robotics as well as partner teams across Amazon Operations and Engineering teams to implement efficient collaboration and scaling mechanisms in support of our growth. The Sr TPM will also be critical in helping a fast growing team develop design process standards, mechanisms and tool consistency across the organization to streamline information flow internally and externally from team.

You have a keen eye for system dependencies and are quick to resolve them with your own initiative. You build mission clarity for collaborating teams to align requirements and objectives.

You will manage technical design lifecycles of multiple concurrent warehouse design programs to deliver higher quality outcomes in shorter amounts of time. You will lead improvements to our design processes, tools, and technologies to achieve better design decisions earlier in the life-cycle. You will drive simplification and efficiencies in engineering and/or complex architectures to unblock innovation and/or speed of delivery. In these efforts you will identify, assess, track and mitigate risks working across stakeholder teams. Where needed, you will define or influence product requirements for engineering teams while you negotiate resources and priorities. You are able to find a path forward in difficult situations and will facilitate technical trade-offs between short term team needs and long term business needs. You will work independently with limited guidance to influence partners, system owners, and/or architectures.

This role is located in Westborough, Ma. Expect to travel up to 10%.

€¢ Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor€™s degree in engineering, operations, or a related technical field required;
€¢ Minimum of 5 years of experience leading and managing relevant cross-functional programs.
Proven experience managing and deploying complex industrial engineering projects and large scale automation systems in an operating environment (warehouse, manufacturing, industrials, etc€¦)
€¢ Demonstrated strengths influencing decision makers, business judgment, attention to detail, written and oral communication skills, and a practical common sense approach to getting things done.
€¢ Mastery of fundamentals in Industrial Engineering including Lean/Toyota Production Systems (TPS), value stream engineering, Six Sigma, statistical process control (SPC), business case analysis, and ergonomic and safety assessment.
€¢ Proven experience using traditional and agile development methodologies to deliver programs with high uncertainty under aggressive timelines.


€¢ MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience leading or integrating designs of complex material handling systems including robotics and/or high-speed manufacturing in high mix and short lead time environments.
€¢ Experience using, adapting, modifying, developing, and/or integrating discrete event simulation tools to validate design assumptions, and explore sensitivities of new capabilities.
€¢ Experience tinkering with controls systems.
€¢ Experience managing and leading Operations teams in any industry.
