Amazon's Finance Technology (FinTech) organization builds and maintains the finance technology platforms and services that enable new business growth, compliance with financial and tax reporting obligations, and analysis of our financial data. Through our products, we aim to maximize time spent by Finance teams on high value analysis, reduce the growth of operating expenses, and improve the vendor experience.

About this role:
We are looking for an ambitious and entrepreneurial Senior Technical Program Manager to help launch Electronic Invoicing (E-Invoicing) solutions in multiple countries by working across several cross functional software engineering, business, Tax, Finance and Accounting teams. An ideal candidate is leader who is both visionary and is a strong operator to help drive the project initiation, enable delivery across many interdependent teams, and to lead the execution. The successful candidate must have exceptional problem solving skills, strong business judgment, technical depth and demonstrated experience leading through influence on initiatives that involve multiple cross-functional teams. We are looking for a proven ability to execute both strategically and tactically, and someone who is excited to take on a new, ambitious, and ambiguous project.

This Technical Program Manager (TPM) professional plays a significant part in leading a multi-year program from concept through execution. As Amazon continues to scale and add complexity, FinTech will build new processes and tools to automate financial transactions and reporting. This TPM will work hand in hand with our engineers to define the architecture across dev team, and with our customers across Tax, Accounting, FinOps, AWS, Retail, Transportation and others to define and orchestrate scope, work streams, timing, milestones, and communication plan. This TPM will need to dive deep with the development team and challenge the design as needed. Solutions involve the development of new products and services, and leverage existing products and services in new ways. It is rife with ambiguity, and we are looking for a leader who can embrace the challenge of solving complex technical problems that require consistent iteration and schedule refinement. This leader will facilitate the development of detailed project plans and timelines, ensure technical teams are delivering to the customer requirements, and drive leadership alignment and communication of our progress across teams.

The successful candidate will have strong Technical Program management, be highly collaborative, globally minded and have a high level of customer focus. You should be a motivated self-starter that works well with others in a dynamic, ambiguous environment. You should have excellent business, technical, and communication skills to be able to work across countries and markets, dev teams, and with business owners to define and deliver improvements.

You possess a strong program management background, have demonstrated experience leading large projects, and have a well-rounded technical background in software and hardware systems.

Your are technically strong, and are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done

You can anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.

You are able to take complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner.

About the team
Our team centralizes and standardizes the payable execution for Amazon businesses(referred as payor)
who need to send payments to vendors (referred as payee). We orchestrate the processes that allow
Amazon to pay business partners without having to understand the underlying complexities of financial
accounting, payments, controllership, and reporting. We provide the core payable execution features such as payable ingestion and approval, planning, execution, disbursement, accounting, remittance, notifications, reporting, and reconciliation. We ensure that the right amount is paid to the right business partners at the right time, and that accounting can be substantiated for all payable transactions.


  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • 5+ years of technical program management experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field 7+ years of relevant work experience in internet-related technical program management in a software environment
  • 7+ years' experience in a software development, architect or program manager role managing software projects


  • Experience with agile methodologies
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Experience with a cloud computing or large software services company is a plus
  • Experience with tax or finance related projects is a plus
