Job Description: The Radar Sensor Systems (RSS) product line, part of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Systems Mission Area in Space & Airborne Systems, seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to provide radar analyst and mode development support for distributed aperture radar programs. Mode development includes working on multi-function capabilities such as communications. The open position resides within the Airborne Multi-mode Radar Mode Development section in the Systems Engineering, Integration and Test Center. This systems engineer will work among other analysts, hardware, and software engineers supporting the program and will take direction from the lead systems engineer. Perform radar and communications mode design, including software specification definition for implementation of mode functionality Conduct and support signal processing and waveform analyses Development of mathematical algorithms for radar signal processing Performance predictions and analysis of data received from the radar Design and development of radar waveforms Technical presentations to both internal and external customers Technical team leadership participating in technical peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration, and test Interface with CE, LSE, IPTL, PM, team members, and other teams (SW and HW) on a daily basis Conduct or participate in customer and/or program technical review presentations, and provide analysis teams task progress status updates and work products to the LSE and CE. Define signal processing to required to implement communications capability for an existing AESA radar Ensure consistent application of engineering best practices and that activities undertaken under your control are conducted to common standards in accordance with the company's IPDS processes Using 6 Sigma proactively to foster a culture of continuous process improvement
Required Skills:
Minimum 6 years of experience in systems engineering and algorithm development Technical experience with radar/software systems engineering Knowledge of radar signal processing techniques, mathematical algorithms, analytic techniques and computer simulations Experience in MATLAB and C or C++ Experience working with both customer and internal resources Strong written/verbal communication skills including working with Microsoft Office Suite of Tools Experience with radar mode algorithm development Skilled at anticipating problems and planning to mitigate them U.S. Citizenship Must be able to obtain a secret Desired Skills:
Experience with and knowledge of the Systems Engineering lifecycles and demonstrable application of relevant methodologies and toolsets Mathcad, Python, or related languages and tools Experience with TF Navigation concepts and algorithms Radar mode development skills including maritime surveillance, MTI, air-to-air, sense and avoid, weather detection, and terrain detection / terrain avoidance Digital communications Required Education: B.S. in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related discipline.
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
