Raytheon is seeking a Windows System Administrator to join our team in operating and maintaining the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Common Ground System (CGS), a state-of-the-art ground station for the next generation of low earth orbiting environmental satellites. This system provides global coverage, monitor environmental conditions, collect, disseminate and process data about the Earth's weather, atmosphere, oceans, land and near-space environment.

The System Administrator is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and implementing solutions to optimize the infrastructure operations. Analyzes and identifies all or part of a company's existing or new computer (and/or server), peripheral, network, and telecommunications systems requirements, taking into consideration the special technology needs. Designs, implements, codes, tests, documents, and maintains systems integration solutions to total system or subsystems. Establishes functional and technical specifications, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem.

Duties can include, but not limited to:

Windows Systems Administration
Installation of workstations, installing licenses, and adding VMWare VMs.

Patch and Vulnerability evaluation, remediation, and work-off/closure of security findings
Provide expertise for operational management of SAN storage, monitoring, access management, disaster recovery, security compliance/auditing, networking,
Reviewing and impact assessment of Engineering Change Requests (ECR)

Set up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation and troubleshooting
Qualified applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, will be subject to a security investigation, must be able to obtain a DOD Common Access Card (CAC) and pass a national agency check.

Required Skills:

4+ years of relevant technical experience
2+ years of experience with Windows systems administration.
Experience with VMWare
Demonstrated ability to work in a process driven environment
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationship with all levels of an organization, including customers, engineering organizations, IPT members, supporting functional organizations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and negotiation skills.

Ability to quickly come up to speed on technical efforts
Hardware/software trouble shooting skills.

Desired Skills:

Linux Systems Administration experience
Networking experience
Experience with NAS administration
Experience with security operations: system protection, system scanning and auditing, recurring security configuration checks and management, risk assessments, contingency/incident response, and security sustainment of a large ground system.
Experience in action item management, requirement change management and overall development and progress metrics.

Required Education (including Major):
Must have a Bachelors degree, preferably in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, and 4 years of related work experience.
Travel:
Occasional travel in the Continental United States including Raytheon location in Riverdale, MD.

Schedule:
Normal work hours are between 8am and 5pm; however, various mission activities will require a flexible work schedule, occasional off-hours and weekends depending on mission needs.
