Reporting to the Leader of the Metals and Formed Metals Center of Excellence, Honeywell, this position is responsible for Honeywell's direct material Metals and Formed Metals procurement strategy, execution and results.

The Metals and Formed Metals Center of Excellence (Metals and Formed Metals COE) Sr Strategic Souring Lead  role is a corporate position supporting all Honeywell Strategic Business Groups (SBGs) globally. In this role, you will develop strategies that drive performance on the Metals and Formed Metals spend to drive annual save.

The Sr Strategic Souring Lead is the driver for business results for the Metals and Formed Metals spend across all Suppliers, SBGs and Honeywell global locations. Responsibility for process definition, deployment, results and improvement, strategy development and implementation, oversight of purchasing practices and delivery to an annual operating plan for savings and working capital improvement. This role has direct impact on the financial performance of the businesses through the delivery of cost savings and cash/working capital improvement.

Specific responsibilities include

Key initiatives (Auctions, High Growth Region, etc.)

  • Leverage spend across Honeywell with direct accountability for delivery of annual savings targets
  • In conjunction with SBG sourcing leaders and category managers, develop comprehensive cross SBG category strategies that leverage best practices, consistent communication, a common supply base across SBGs, and common High Growth Regions preferred supplier programs
  • Deliver business results including productivity, working capital improvement, supplier performance, and continuity of supply
  • Consolidate fragmented global spend, reduce the use of non-strategic suppliers, and move the procurement activities upstream in the lifecycle of a solution in order to bring greater value to Honeywell
  • Negotiate strategic agreements with critical suppliers to maximize the benefits to Honeywell
  • Facilitate strong cross SBG collaboration across all Metals and Formed Metals categories
  • In collaboration with SBGs, provide one Honeywell voice to the supply base and lead supplier business reviews
  • Implement contract excellence across all major Metals and Formed Metals categories
  • Develop and publish key market intelligence including lead times, capacity, industry trends, benchmarks, etc, to SBG sourcing leaders and category managers
  • Develop and provide intelligence on high growth regions and countries
  • Assist the SBGs with unique Metals and Formed Metals procurement requirements
  • Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships and service levels to support business requirements
  • Drive strong internal cross functional relationships across Honeywell to advance strategy and results
  • Build strong technical solutions including new technology, VA/VE, CE product and cost improvements with Metals and Formed Metals Suppliers
  • Drive world class performance from Honeywell Metals and Formed Metals Suppliers
  • Ensure global policy compliance

    • Bachelor€™s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business
    • 5 years of experience in Procurement, preferably with Metals and Formed Metals experience and commodity management

      • CPM certification
      • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
      • Working and/or Leading in Matrix and complex Team Environment
      • Project Management and/or Contract Management Experience
      • Professional Certifications in Project/Supply Chain/ Procurement/Contract Management
      • Demonstrated Business and financial acumen
      • Experience with SAP, E Sourcing Platforms, Request for Quotation Tools, Project Management Tools
      • Experience managing multiple projects in a dynamic global environment
