Sr. Security Intel and Investigations Analyst

The SpaceX Intelligence Program leverages external and internal resources to identify threats that could disrupt or compromise any SpaceX operation. The program provides comprehensive and systematic analysis of all facets of SpaceX operations to ensure senior leadership is able to make the most effective risk based decisions possible. The Senior Analyst is responsible for the research, analysis, production, and dissemination of information of relevance to protecting the safety and security of personnel, brand, global assets, and operations at SpaceX.

The Senior Analyst is also responsible for supporting internal and external investigations, either stemming from the intel conducted or through other escalation protocols (e.g., Info Security, HR). The Senior Analyst provides consistent review of all security related incidents across the enterprise (internal and external) while referencing monitoring data against indications and warnings benchmarks. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to understand and assess a persons activity to help inform decisions regarding the application of protection strategies.


  • Case management, data entry, and maintenance of protective intelligence records and files
  • Use of investigative databases and reports
  • Conduct intelligence analysis, threat assessment and analysis, and investigations on persons and groups of interest to determine whether they pose a threat, including interviews and data analysis.
  • Provide short and long term intelligence products such as daily intelligence briefs or products to ensure senior leadership is aware of the most significant threats to the business
  • Evaluate various types of correspondence (letters, packages, e-mail, phone calls, and unsolicited visits)
  • Proactively research using open-source methods, such as social media, blogs, and forums
  • Perform cyber-related research/discovery for threat intelligence
  • Communicate and collaborate, as appropriate, with law enforcement, and other government organizations
  • Provide intelligence support to issue management, crisis management, protective intelligence investigations and operations, and major meetings and events
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders and departments to determine requirements and expand the functions reach
  • Ensure awareness of industry intelligence practices and pursue both the techniques and tools to sustain a cutting edge intelligence program


  • Bachelor's degree from a four year university
  • 5+ years of professional experience in intelligence, investigative, and/or forensic psychology: corporate, military, law enforcement, or government agency


  • Masters degree in a relevant topic, to include International Relations, Security Studies, International Security, Journalism, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, or similar programs
  • Proficiency in one or more foreign languages
  • Overseas professional or educational experience is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in web-based social medial platforms, online search tools, applications, and communications technology
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, quick, and ambiguous project schedule in an unstructured environment
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (to include building infographics)
  • Strong analytical, oral, and written presentation skills
  • Highly collaborative with a great degree of emotional intelligence and maturity
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced high tech environment
  • Dedicated to developing as an intelligence professional


  • Must be willing to travel ad hoc, although only minimal travel is expected at this time
  • Candidates will be subject to pre-employment screening including background check and drug/alcohol test as well as random drug and alcohol testing during employment
