At Amazon, we are working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Program Manager in our Internet of Things (IoT) Specialist Solutions Architect team. This position will partner with the Solutions Architecture management and a large team supporting the Global IoT Commercial organization at AWS to create and implement a programmatic approach to manage Solution Architect initiatives, enablement, and launch activities.

The role requires someone who gets excited about planning (program, operational, event/meeting) and communications, and is eager to be a part of a team that welcomes all opinions and points of view.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to drive results in an ambiguous environment, with a high level of attention to detail. They will be at the center of the team and will be part of the glue that helps us operate efficiently, effectively and happily.

This role is for you if you are an organized, effective self-starter, care about the employee experience, and have experience in full-cycle program management (from design through implementation, measurement and continuous improvement).

Key job responsibilities

  • Serving as a business partner ensuring strategic, proactive and thoughtful support of the rhythm of the business
  • Creating and maintaining multiple, concurrent and matrixed program plans
  • Building processes to ensure integration with internal teams
  • Ensuring on-time project completion and delivery of great customer experience.
  • Creating status reports with internal and cross functional teams for weekly/monthly reviews with leadership teams
  • General project management of team initiatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of relevant program/project management experience in a related industry.
  • 7+ years of experience leading global, cross-functional projects
  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in matrixed global teams
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to identify and document customer requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to break down high level business problems into concrete analytical solution components
  • Self-motivated and able to own workload to deliver results on self-driven deadlines.
  • PMP highly desirable

This position can be remote, but candidates must be based near an AWS office location (Arlington, Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Cupertino, Dallas, East Palo Alto, Herndon, Houston, Irvine, Minneapolis, New York City, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Washington D.C., Sunnyvale, Santa Monica, Seattle)

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $147,800- $201,200 yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
