Alexa can now help parents and students to stay connected to their school by simply asking, €œAlexa, what homework do I have due this week?€, €œAlexa, what did Hannah do in school today?€, or €œAlexa, what was Jack's score on his math exam?€

Alexa Education is looking for a senior product manager to help drive the business strategy and vision of our products. This role is inherently cross-functional -- you will work closely with stakeholders within the education community at Amazon, external partners, device product teams, finance and senior leadership to develop product opportunities. You also will have experience managing high-profile or highly sensitive products, and can quickly grasp product design and its privacy risks, understanding CX implications of cutting-edge product experiences. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment, and seek data-driven decision-making. Above all, you are passionate about the education team's charter, the Alexa product, and protecting customer trust.

A successful candidate will have an established background in driving clarity in highly ambiguous technical environments, developing long-term roadmaps, providing feedback on architecture and design, and guiding peers in an Agile environment. He/she should have excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results. He/she should be innovative and entrepreneurial, with a desire to build a business from the ground up in a new market segment and with the fortitude to fail fast and recover. This candidate should be technical in nature, with a high understanding of what it takes to work with engineering to develop scalable, extensible products and services. He/she will also help to define, measure, and report on key performance metrics.

Key responsibilities include the following:
· Define vision for product features that you own and gain buy-in from key stakeholders, such as leadership team, development, finance, and marketing
· Develop core product management documentation, including user scenarios, detailed business requirements, and metrics of success for your product initiatives
· Understand business holistically to ensure the correct prioritization and trade-offs are made on the product roadmap
· Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team€™s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals
· Work with finance and marketing to conduct business and financial analysis, including forecasting, monitoring, and reporting as needed
· Research new opportunities for Amazon, and identify what can be leveraged from across the company to build an engaging customer experience on Alexa Education
· Own the entire lifecycle of products from requirements definition through integration, launch, and post launch analysis
· Act as our privacy subject matter expert, working closely with various Alexa teams to represent Alexa Education€™s diverse customers
· Maintain a broad understanding of the global privacy landscape impacting Alexa/Amazon


· Bachelor's Degree
· 5+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology
· Experience with end to end product delivery
· Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
· Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
· Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
· Bachelor degree in business, technology, or relevant field of study or equivalent experience
· 5+ years of data-driven product management work experience performing product management job functions
· 2-3+ years of professional experience in Education, Academics, Distance/ Digital Learning, or other related industries
· Experience designing customer-facing products or programs
· Experience coordinating projects across cross-functional teams, including technical, engineering, marketing, UX design and sales teams


· 10+ years product management
· MBA with BS or higher in Computer Science
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior management
· Both technically deep and business savvy enough to interface with all levels and disciplines within the organization, experience presenting to C-Level leadership
· Able to exhibit ownership and operate autonomously in a lean, fast-paced organization
· Experience with managing a P&L, financial modeling, and data analysis
· Previous experience building products that leverage A.I., Machine Learning, Natural Language Understanding, and/or big data
· Experience working deeply with legal or policy teams to deliver consumer products
