Sr. Principal UAV Pilot

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Senior Principal Pilot Unmanned Aerial Vehicle based out of NAS Patuxent River, MD to be responsible for piloting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) during operational flights supporting the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance-Demonstration program. Additional job responsibilities include: providing initial RQ-4 instruction to RQ-4 student pilots, conducting briefings and debriefings, coordinating with maintenance personnel to analyze and correct vehicle discrepancies, and maintaining both FAA commercial single engine and instrument ratings. This position will forward deploy twice annually on 2- to 3-month assignments to overseas locations to conduct terminal area flight operations or flight instructor duties. You must be able to comply with host country immigration requirements.

**Qualifications:**

**Basic Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's degree in a related field and 9 plus years aviation experience OR 7 plus years aviation experience with M aster's degree OR 4 plus years aviation experience with PhD OR 13 years experience in lieu of degree.

- Current FAA Commercial Single Engine Land Instructor Pilot OR prior military instructor pilot rating.

- Current FAA Instrument Rating.

- Current OR prior RQ-4 UAS Instructor Pilot qualification.

- Minimum of 600 hours logged as Pilot in Command in manned aircraft.

- Capable of obtaining a Class II FAA medical certificate.

- Position requires candidate complete and satisfactorily pass RQ-4A Re-Qualification Course within prescribed training syllabus timeline.

- Selected candidate must receive pilot certification from our Government Flight Representative (GFR) as a basis for continued employment.

- Selected candidate must be capable of meeting host-nation work visa requirements for overseas deployments; details available upon request.

- Secret Clearance required.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Current FAA Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument (CFII) rating.
- Over 700 hours logged as Pilot in Command in manned aircraft.
