Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is looking for an experienced Sr. Principal Systems Electromagnetic Environments Engineer to support the Launch and Missile Defense Systems business unit for Systems Engineering Radiation Effects team.

Sr. Principal Systems Electromagnetic Environments Engineer-Radiation Effects will play a key role in support of new strategic missile development efforts within the Specialty Engineering group. Project entails hardening launch vehicle structures and avionics to the effects of direct and indirect lightning, as well as EMP.
A broad experience base in man-made radiation effects, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation forms is desirable. Knowledge of non-ionizing radiation effects particularly at high E-M field strength, direct and indirect lighting effects, as well as HEMP/EMP forms is preferred.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
