Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Quality Engineer to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Quality Engineer develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. Provide training and mentorship on various topics. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies. Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in a related field and 9+ years of relevant experience (7+ years with Master's, 4+ years with PhD)
+ Ability to coordinate vendor material for disposition across all programs and all commodities while being committed to customer service and the Quality principles of control and management of non-conforming material.
+ Ability to provide daily engineering support to management, receiving inspection and inventory activities.
+ Ability to develop and maintain Principles and Operating Practices (PrOP) and process improvement activities, as well as perform audits.
+ Experience with SAP reporting and transaction knowledge and Microsoft Office Suite skills
+ Detail oriented and able to prioritize with strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress
+ Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)
+ Bending/squatting
+ Carrying/lifting/pulling/pushing up to 50 pounds.
+ Able to walk on concrete floor for at least 8 hours per day.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Knowledge of Advanced Quality Concepts, such as Green Belt Training and customer service and process improvement knowledge preferred.
+ 5+ years experience with Supplier Quality and/or SAP/MES Quality Engineering role.

Salary Range: $109,100.00 - $163,700.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
